Badly made
I generally like LLBean products. They are well-designed and in the past well make. These shorts have all the features I like: 7 pockets, true to size, no iron. However the button that fastens the top, was sewn on poorly with thin thread. It pulled out after only 7 or 8 days. (Not in a row.) Now, I have to find someone who can repair the shorts. I can’t recommend this product.

Wonderful shorts
Rugged, stylish and well made shorts- just what you need for an active life-style. Good fit. The dinky little snaps for several pockets may e better than Velcro but they a a pain to close. Otherwise, first rate shorts!

Nice shorts except for back pockets
My husband likes these shorts the best of the LLB selection. Basically attractive, but I find the back pockets messy looking. The flaps are alwasy sticking straight up. This limits their use to very casual wear.

Durable and fit well -- but chafes
Bought to replace my go-to worn out cargos from another vendor, but can't wear these for walking or hiking due to chafing from the inside seams that look like zippers. Tried a lot of washing to soften them but to no avail. Option would to go oversize I suppose, but I have to look elsewhere.

Highly functional shorts
These shorts have plenty of pockets and I hope will be handy on weekend adventures. Unfortunately, all the flaps and short material require ironing after each washing so I won't wear them often.

Nice short deliver everything I want
I love these shorts, the fit is on target (at least for my body) and they are well made. I like the snaps on the pocket as opposed to Velcro, they don’t “self seal” when I am getting things out.

Buy a waist size two inches below your actual size
They're just not true to size. The waist I bought was 32", and these would be loose on someone with a 34" actual waist size, they're just huge. I like the weight and feel but the size is bad.

Good News Bad News
I’ve owned these Allagash shorts before and loved them. Just bought a few new pairs and have a mixed review. Good News - those pesky buttons have been replaced with snaps.
The Bad News is the cloth material is much thinner and doesn’t have that long lasting heft of the old version.
I’ll give them a chance , but will miss that solid feel of the old ones

Cargo short with purpose
Great look and fit, however for me, when I went hiking in white mountains, they are a little long, hang over my knees. This fit makes it hard fir me to hike upwards on the mountain, found myself lifting the shirts with my hands to get more length in my stride. Going to have my wife shorten them for me. However great fit, feel, heavy fabric held up great through my slips and falls on the wet rocks.
