Very lightweight, warm and extremely versatile
I bought the first edition of this vest and jacket in about 2010 or 11 for layering in Colorado winters. The vest became my go to, all around warm apparel whether by itself or under other garments. Unfortunately, I left it in a hotel over Thanksgiving and someone else is enjoying it. This new edition seems at least as good. It's wonderful that LLBean quality hasn't degraded over the past 70 years I've been buying the products, unlike almost all other outdoor product companies. Keep up the great work. I usually wear an extra large in shirts, but the large vest has fit me well at 6'2" and weights between my fat 230 and my current 185.

Great addition to my lifestyle in the Pacific NW
The interior and exterior pockets are all zippered, but the interior zippered chest pockets are fantastic, as they held my passport and wallet securely; they are roomy enough to do this. The main zipper has "beefier" teeth in the zipper track, though not metal, that are very strong and don't catch the fabric. I like the contrasting colors of dark blue with orange trim and orange zippers. It washes well in cold water, and you can just hang it up to dry, because it dries very quickly.

These vests need better zippers!
I’ve had two of these vests and the zipper teeth spilt on both vests when trying to close the zipper. I think these should last longer than 2-3 years for the money I paid!

My hubby had this vest in the navy with orange trim/zipper. He still loves and wears it often. I took the chance that it came in other colors— yes! Neutral black goes with everything, is almost immune to showing dirt, and is extremely lightweight. The best winter vest made!

Almost perfect but short
I have jacket and vest in XL Tall. I am only 6’1” and the vest is short. I often wear this vest over a light jacket. Even if jacket is a standard XL, the bottom of the jacket sticks out longer than this vest. On the positive side, packababilty and chest pocket are great.
