Flat Feet
I have flat feet and hard to fit. They were tight in the toe and loose in heel. Returned. Look like nice boots though. Wished they fit.

Good shoes - Seem to run a little large
I found these shoes to be quite warm and dry, and that’s exactly what I was looking for. The construction seems to be quite good. I expect them to hold up well. Although they fit well enough, they seem to run a bit large.

Storm Chaser Slip-On Shoe 4 Arctic Grip Men's
great boot with ultimate traction, warm, best for cold climates, don't wear inside home (they warn against it), perfect for older people concerned about slipping or falling on ice or snow. Love 'em! True to size chart.

Shoe leaks
I only wear these shoes in my own back yard so I don't track grass clippings etc. into the house. The left shoe has been leaking. It soaks a lot of moisture in just from walking around in short, dew-coated grass. It looks like there is a separation along the right side of the left shoe where two different materials meet. I have always been pleased with quality of LL Bean items so I never expected a signature product like this would be so disappointing.

Quick on, and quick off boot!
Very comfortable, and fairly easy to slip on/off. I used these boots more this year than the traditional 'Lace up' 'Bean' boot because they were so easy to put on and off.

Fine shoes for snow & ice
The grip of these excellent shoes approximates but does not quite match yak trax (or equivalent). I find them very useful in southern New England's climate of snow followed by rain and then ice. They are a fine innovation which I highly recommend.

Mens Storm Chaser slip on shoes with arctic grip
Very useful outdoors in a cold climate - warm, never slips on snow and ice, fast easy-on and easy-off. Can’t wear in deep snow because it’s not a tall boot. Great for chores outside. Looks good. Durable, well-made and water proof. Great purchase!

No sliding
Since I was a little kid, I’ve loved to slide on smooth surfaces such as ice. These shoes changed all that, NO MORE SLIDING. Arctic Grip does wha it’s supposed to do, help prevent an old geezer like myself from slipping and falling. I keep them in the garage, ready to slip on (pun intended) any time i go outside

Disappointed
Although the shoe is comfortable and warm, the "Artic Grip" traction aid does not preform as advertised. I think it makes the shoe slip more than a smooth leather soled shoe on icy surfaces.

Comfort, Style and good grip
Originally purchased size 8, but after 3 miles the uppers had stretched to the point that they slide right off my feet. Reordered a 7 1/2 and after wearing them for several miles in various conditions, I’m loving them. I feel more sure footed when out in icy conditions, the arch support is really nice and they are stylish. I’m really glad I bought these, I keep them by the door to slip on easily whenever I need to run out to get something or for long walks in the woods with the dogs. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a great winter hiking type shoe.

Not warm enough but grips ice well
Great sole but poorly insulated in the toes. Even at 30 above the rubber gets cold and there is virtually no insulation to keep the cold from transferring to your toes. Unfortunate because cold winter shoes are of little use. I am not inclined to cold feet. These are unacceptably cold, even with wool socks.

Shoe is great, “Arctic Grip” is snake oil
I live in Minnesota and we have lots of ice and snow. Shoes like this are my daily choice all winter from mid November into April. I had been wearing Keens before but they have been discontinued and I got these.
I like the fit, I like how the top is essentially sealed against snow intrusion with the cuff at the top. I like the waterproofed shoe upper and they are comfortable.
That said, the “Arctic Grip” is a joke. It’s marginally better on ice than standard Vibram soles which are terrible because of the deep tread with less surface area and hard rubber. These are better than that but I’d say they are no more than 5 to a max of 10% better than others winter shoes on ice. This sole is not worth the extra $40 over the non Arctic Grip sole.
I actually have a very hard time writing “Arctic Grip” without rolling my eyes. The thing is a joke and LL Bean ought to get at most $5 extra for it or just keep the regular shoe. Watch for this to go away in the future.
So I went outside with this today. We had a freezing rain so I have a 20’ patch of smooth ice on my concrete driveway. Took a bit of a running start and did the two footed slide thing for a good 10’ or so - just like with regular boots.
I don’t think I have seen anything hyped so much that provided so little benefit in a long time. This Arctic Grip thing (eyes just rolled) is pretty much snake oil.
Buy the regular version of these shoes. They’re nice and should serve you well. This? It’s nonsense.

"Arctic Grip" soles wore out
This is the second winter tor these boots. I purchased them because I had fallen on a patch of dark ice while walking the dog breaking a rib. The idea of "Arctic Grip" soles sounded great.
The boots are manufactured in Asia and are not well made. The loop on the heel of the right boot pulled out last winter requiring a repair. This winter I noticed that the grip from the "hard" resin chips has disappeared and there is no coarse sandpaper feel where the chips are placed and while walking tonight there was some dark ice on my driveway and the "Arctic Grip" was absent.
This product needs to be replaced every year. At $150 per pair this is an expensive nondurable product.
I have purchased L.L. Bean products for 45 years starting when I lived in New Hampshire. With the last few purchases I have noticed the quality and durability has deteriorated. I hesitate to purchase any thing not made in Maine.
