Great snow sneakers but.....
This is a terrific boot & would have loved to add them to my lineup, however the inconsistent sizing made it impossible to get the right fit

Happy feet!
I bought these to keep my feet warm and give me some support for plantar fasciitis. These boots checked off both goals. I can go for long walks comfortably again…even in a light rain. The grommets and lace hooks are metal—good job!!

Disappointing sizing
This was my second trial, after sizing up from my normal size. Length was ok, but very narrow. It would be helpful if you could find a better way to illustrate your sizes, other than just the subjective nature of reading multiple reviews with no consistency or consensus among the reviewers. Why are there no width options as there seem to be for men's boots?

Ankle boots
Comes high up on the ankle. Hard to walk. Maybe you have to break them in??

Nice looking
If only there was a better way to figure out how mail order shoes fit without having to rely on customer reviews. I just hope the size I am exchanging these for is adequate.

Not very comfortable
I bought a black pair of snow sneakers a few years back, and really like them. I wear them every day in the winter when I walk so they are beginning to wear a bit. Therefore I bought a new pair in brown. The style is a bit different than my black pair. They are very stiff and uncomfortable. The top of the boot rubs on my leg, causing some discomfort, even with heavy socks on. I will keep them though, hoping they will loosen up a bit.

Way too stiff, and not only at the sole
Last year I bought Snow Sneaker #5 and loved it. So comfy and warm. I actually went on the website to buy another pair, even though my first pair has a lot of life still. But then I saw these and decided to try them. I expected the sole to be stiffer and didn't know if I'd be okay with that or not. What I didn't expect was an entirely different design with an upper that is also way too stiff - and painful above the ankle. I'll be returning these and buying, if still available, another pair of what I already have. These are more like hiking boots, and I already have waterproof hiking boots that I like, though they are not as warm as these probably are.

Love this boot!
I just bought a second pair of boots because I hate it when companies change their inventories. I love this boot this much. They are smooth as butter and super comfortable. I actually wear them all summer too because where I live is really rainy and the rocky trails I hike on are super slick. I bought a pair for my teenaged daughter too and she loves them also.

Good, but not perfect.
This is my 2nd pair of snow sneakers. I've had my first pair for several years, but the tread is pretty worn and can be slippery in icy conditions, so I bought these new ones. The tread is definitely better, but the fit isn't exactly the same. They're still very comfortable, but the part that goes around the ankle is very stiff. It's loosening up with use and I'm definitely keeping them, but the previous pair were comfortable right out of the box. Other than that, I'm very happy and can confirm that they're waterproof as I've walked through a small creek with them and my socks stayed dry.

Womens Snow Sneaker w/Arctic Grip Mid Lace-up
I gave this boot a 4 but that's only because it was much bigger than I realized when I ordered it. For a taller person it probably is great. As usual the product is top notch as is any Bean product I have had.

Loving the snow shoes!
My wife absolutely loves them. We live in MN and we just got dumped on with 1 1/2 foot of snow and then icy sleet so she was well prepared for our daily hikes.

Just a dream!
These are my second pair of snow sneakers. They are incredibly comfortable. So comfortable that it’s hard to believe that they’re actually a boot. My first pair did not have the artic grip and were slippery on ice - other than that, they were great. So this time I opted for the artic grip yet was worried that I’d have to compromise on comfort but I find that they’re just as comfortable. They’re a little stiff in the ankle for about a week and then they’re just a dream; comfortable, warm, and more stable on slippery conditions. Great boots for taking my dog out for his walks and more. I was and still am extremely pleased with LLBean’s snow sneakers. I highly recommend them.

Third winter
Snow Sneaker 4 looks like my size 8W purchase several years ago. I look forward to winter so I can wear it again. Perfectly supportive, extremely comfortable. It's my "everyday" winter shoe. It's more comfortable for me than the similar 8W hiking boot, so this pair may turn into hiking boots this year. Hoping for another 8W snow boot available in this style later in the year, for next winter.

Too stiff around the ankle
These were just the boots I was looking for - snow sneakers. Although I had read the reviews about them being stiff around the ankles, I decided to order them anyway. I walked around my basement with them on and the ankle portion of the shoe, especially in the front where they tie, was just too stiff and painful. I was SO disappointed and sad. They were returned.

not a good sneaker for long power walks
I didn't want to give this sneaker a bad review just because it didn't work for me, but anyone looking for a comfortable, warm, waterproof winter sneaker for long power walks might want to consider the Snow Sneaker 5 Mid Boot Waterproof Insulated Lace Up Women's instead, it's much more comfortable. The Arctic Grip was very uncomfortable at the top, they pinched my legs, even after adding or removing leggings and various socks. They looked like a great sneaker for the cold and snowy winter (sometimes fall & spring) conditions here in Maine, but after a short time in them, especially if there was much activity, they were just too uncomfortable at the top. I tried for 2 weeks to break them in on short walks, loosened them more each time . . . but couldn't stop the pinching that was causing so much discomfort at the top. I probably would have kept them if all I needed them for was shorter periods outside in harsh winter conditions, but I was looking for a good winter power walking sneaker. I exchanged them for Snow Sneaker 5 Mid Boot Waterproof Insulated Lace Up Women's, and these are perfect for my 8 - 10 mile daily power walks.

Stylish, warm, very comfortable
The grips on these boots are amazing! They are warm for most uses. I stood for 15 minutes outside in -10F windchill -30F for a funeral and they weren't warm then, but that is extreme and for most uses they'll be great.

Mixed review
Love the grip in the sole. They run small - they're more snug than I'd like. They keep my feet warm. One boot rubs on my ankle - the other feels fine.

Excellent winter walking/ hiking boot
The tread is excellent on snow and ice; surprisingly warm with good support (although I do use and orthotic). Slightly wide for my foot but manageable with thick socks. Would definitely buy again.

Comfortable right out of the box
This is my fourth winter wearing Arctic Grip soles. I have Arctic Grip Muck boots for barn work; LLBean Arctic Grip slip-on leather moccasins for going to town; and now these "new improved" Arctic Grip snow sneakers. I am a fan of this sole, as I walk every day in MN. Earlier versions of the snow sneaker were very slippery and useless on ice and snow.
So far, crossing fingers as I type, I have not fallen with Arctic Grip soles on my feet. For all you gray-haired ones who like to get out for a daily walk even when the footing is a bit on the treacherous side, I think these are worth the money.

Great traction
Attractive boot, waterproof, great traction, warm, pretty comfortable. However, the deal-breaker for me is that from the ankle up the boot is SO stiff that it hurts my legs. It feels like I'm walking with boards surrounding my ankles. I have tried to break them in, but they seem to have no give. Sadly, these boots are still in beautiful condition, are well -made, and I love the traction, but I have to buy a different pair that doesn't hurt.

Sore ankles!
I will try to write a follow up review yet. I wore these boots for the first time this am walking the dog. Ouch! The stiffness on the ankle is a tad crazy. So much so, that upon returning home - after walking an hour - I had open wounds on both my ankles. The grip on the ice was good however. Not foolproof, but work way better than my regular Merrell hikers. I will try as another reviewer suggested to put an insert in, or maybe I will bandage up next time I venture out. Will give the boots a break however first to allow my ankles heal. I hope these work out. We bought two pair - one for my hubby and one for me. He felt his were a bit stiff also, but didn't experience the same sores that I did - he said there was a little redness that likely would have gotten worse if we had walked longer. Because I love L.L.Bean products I will give it another few tries. Hoping the tops of the boots soften up in time.

Solid winter gear
This is my second pair of snow sneakers with artic grip. And as a resident of Northern Vermont, they see their share of foul weather. These shoes run true to size and are warm enough to wear regular socks with while in motion. The toe box is average, the foot bed is quite comfortable although lacking a bit of arch support. While I wouldn't train in them, they are very comfortable and functional for daily winter activity. I will agree with other reviews that the ankle is a bit tight but this can be remedied by lacing the top looser. I have never had wet feet due to snow, and the artic grip is sturdy enough that I bypass tracks. Solid product.

Women's Snow Sneakers with Arctic Grip
I bought these for my wife for snowshoeing. They work well. As others state in reviews, the tops are somewhat tight but she does not lace them tightly and they are alright. She said she would not hike in them a long distance w/o snow, but they do well in snow, which is why we wanted them.

Why no wide width?!
All of the other snow sneakers come in wide width, and these are the only ones who claim good on the ice. I live in Canada and I needed this one but you didn’t bother to make it in wide very disappointing
