Late review, great bags for me
I have several of these bags, all sizes, the oldest probably 15 years old and still in use.
I am not big on doing reviews but thought I might add an honest review after reading some odd negative comments.
This is not a purse but a quality heavy duty durable multi purpose tote. I use them for bird hunting, dog supplies, dry goods on boat fishing trips (saves valuable cooler space), Camper/truck catch all and general daily carry all including air travel carry on and grocery trips. They serve well as my camping junk drawer.It may seem expensive at first but but once I bought one, I needed another and another. Have gifted to family and all love them or same reasons.
Things I like best are:
Adjustable HD shoulder strap and zip top. Would not buy it any other way.
Heavy duty zipper and water resistant fabric. No failures with years of use.
(I don’t understand the strap noise or difficult zipper issues but once again, a purse it is not).
I would agree that an inside pouch or exterior pocket like on a duffel would be a benefit but not a deal killer for me. A couple of new colors would be nice for those of us that have a few already.

Best basic tote
This tote bag beautiful yet basic. It has no interior or exterior pockets, just a large, easy-to-clean main compartment that fits everything you need for a weekend. The padded shoulder strap is adjustable and comfortable. The maple brown color is gorgeous.

Great Tote!

Great Bag!
I have 3 of these bags (2 medium and 1 large). I use one of the medium bags everyday for work to carry a small purse, lunch, umbrella, etc. They are very sturdy and the perfect size. I bought the large for travel and it has been great for short trips. I would highly recommend - I even got my sister to purchase one!

Attractive tote for a man
Nice tote for a man. Very well made....c'mon, it's an L.L.Bean Bag... of course it's well made! Got the small and it's plenty roomy for an overnight bag...next size up is twice as big...didn't need that much room.

Hunter’s Tote Needs a pocket
love the color of this bag and that it is canvas however I wish it had an inside or outside pocket. Also I wish it had the ll bean logo on the bag since I probably won’t use the strap.

Good carry bag
It’s a nice heavy duty bag. The only problem I had is the zipper, it’s a little hard to get it started when closing but I’m hoping that will loosen up with time.

Dang near perfect.
Great bag for every day carry. I have several of the Mossy Oak Duck Blind pattern in XL, Lg, and Med that I use for personal car travel and hunting outings. I had bought several hundred at one time for safety awards and customer gifts for my company - buy enough and even the customer gets a few! The new brown is more “civil’. Needs some sort of interior pocket or at least an interior d-ring to clip keys, thus the 4 star rating. I end up using a small tech gear bag to keep small important stuff from becoming adrift. May order next size up for gifts to family.

Well made but the dimensions are inaccurate
I ordered a Large which is listed as 17" wide, and it's actually 22" wide which is too large for my intended purpose (to fit underneath an airline seat).

Didn't like the material.
I didn't like the material so returned it. I bought one from LLBean years ago that was made from waxed cotton canvas that lasted a really long time that I liked just fine.
