Giant Bocci ball set
The game is not conducive to carry to the beach because it is Too Heavy and the balls, which are also heavy, are too large to handle. It wasn’t like my old set, which fit into a more compact zipper bag. I would not recommend this game, which I purchased to anyone.

Disappointing item
Ridiculously heavy set, especially if you want to take it along to the beach, etc. Also, the bag is poorly designed to carry items that are heavy and will roll around. For about 1/4 of the price I found a set elsewhere that was perfect.

Solid set!
I ordered these as a present for my husband for Christmas. We all love the set! It’s a lot heavier than I thought it would be, so it’s not appropriate for very young kids or older adults. Perfect for the teenage cousins and their parents to play an excellent game on the beach!

Great Bocce Set
High Quality Product. Great Weight. These will last a lifetime. I purchased some cheaper plastic balls but I was never happy with them. Saw these on the LL Bean Website and purchased them and I am very pleased. In my opinion they are well worth the money. As other reviewers have stated the bag does seem flimsy. I have not had any problems yet but I would not be surprised if the bag did rip one day. If it does, I will get an LL Bean Tote

Not really suitable for beach play
Overall, the set is well made. The balls are smooth and substantial. The bag needs to be sturdier given the heft of the set. I was disappointed that the finish of the balls didn’t hold up better when we played on the beach. I discussed this with the customer service rep when I ordered it as the purchase was made specifically for our family beach vacation.

Observations of Bocce set
Bought this set in anticipation of many games this summer! Colors are true to picture, balls are regulation size, weight varies slightly. I weighed one ball out of curiosity and ended up weighing them all just for feedback in this review- I found six are 2lbs 15oz, one is 2lbs 11 7/8 oz and one is 3lbs. This is a little more than what I understand regulation to be, 2lbs, but I don’t see this as a problem for our family and friends who’ll be using the set for fun. I used LL Bean bucks to have carrying case monogrammed which looks great! Have seen reviews calling attention to the quality of carrying case. It’s just a simple lightweight canvas tote which I suspect will be fine my use, but I could see given the weight how some have reported issues.
Now that Spring is here, we’re excited to start using the set soon!

A little disappointing.
The bocce balls are great. The bag has a lot to be desired. Although it looks great and works; it won’t work well for long. The stitching is a basting stitch (4 stitches per inch). For something so heavy as bocce balls, the seams will tear out in no time. L.L.Bean should be embarrassed for such low quality workmanship.

Not quite what is pictured
Overall, this is a good bocce ball set. The bocce balls seem to be high quality and are heavy which means they will be able to take some hard hits without chipping or cracking. They seem to be regulation size and have a nice feel to them.
I do have an issue with some items not being as they were pictured on the website. On the website, the yellow balls are a nice, bright yellow which look far better than the actual balls I received which were a light, dull yellow. I think these will eventually turn white from normal use and being lightened by the sun. The other balls were colored as pictured.
Also, the canvas bag is pretty thin and light while the picture on the website makes it seem much thicker and stronger. These are very heavy bocce balls so it would seem a thicker, stronger bag would be more appropriate. I am afraid that this bag will rip and tear over time from the heavy weight of the balls. Lastly, the actual embroidered logo of my last name that I received is thinner and smaller than the website example that appears on the bag.
These may seem like petty gripes, but when you pay well over $100.00 for a bocce set when you can get a good set for half that price, you expect things to be as they are represented on the website. Not getting what was pictured is always going to disappoint at least a little bit.

The carrying case for the bocce ball set is sturdy canvas and well put together. The balls are colorful and of substantial weight for a good game. They can tolerate contact without damage and will last a very long time. While cheaper models are available, this set is durable, attractive, and will provide years of entertainment.
