Longest lasting boots of my life!
Perfect fit, comfort, style. My last pair lasted 27 years and, with the aid of a little duct tape, are still my yard work boots. These cannot be beat!

Look good, feel great but already falling apart
Quality has really gone down. I order a new pair of these or similar every year for my spouse. This year's pair has not been worn much - a lot more slipper time - and the boots are already shredding inside after just a couple of months. The lining has pronounced holes, and the insole is wearing down. When we started buying these 20ish years ago, the pair being replaced would still be in pretty decent shape after hard use. Not the case anymore. Very sad. Going to have to look for a new shoe.

Snug fit
I forgot that I find LL Bean boots to be slightly on the small side for their size. However, while snug (thin socks) they do fit and are awaiting their first true test - a day in the rain at my outside job. They were good for a dry day and appear well made so I am looking forward to finding out how durable they will be.

Over all very comfortable.
These are comfortable and have nice high neck. I really like the color. The inner sole could use a bit more padding. I am aging and do not have very much natural padding.

Good hiking boot but we preferred the older model
My physics professor husband has been wearing the previous model of these boots for years -- year round, every day, all day, in our northern New England climate. He has been through many pairs over the years. They were sturdy and supportive, water-repellent and breathable, and unobtrusive with a pair of khakis and a button-down shirt. Sadly, that model has been discontinued. The Trail Model X is a bit heavier, and has a more aggressive sole. They are no longer ideal for around town and around campus, all day. The bigger, more obvious hiking boot soles call attention to the boots visually, and also in how they feel on his feet for daily wear. That said, this is a very nice hiking boot, and he kept them to wear for hiking. He will need to find some other light hiking boot in subdued colors for daily wear.

This boot ran large so it was returned. We liked that it was waterproof. Too bad it didn’t work out.

Top notch boots.
The first day I got these boots I put them on to wear them around and break them in. I forgot I was even wearing them. They are so incredibly comfortable. I do a lot of work outside moving things around and they are super comfortable on my feet.
