Love this jacket
I am so glad I bought this jacket to take on my Alaska vacation. Even though my trip was in July, I had been warned that it would be chilly and would need a jacket that was waterproof/water resistant and warm because temperatures would be in the 40's and 50's. This jacket was perfect and since I live in Maine it will get a lot of use during the spring and summer, probably in winter as well. The exterior shell is durable, doesn't wrinkle, and has clean lines with nice pockets. The hood is not substantial or very insulated, but it did the trick when it was rainy or I needed a wind block. The lining is lightweight and warm. I haven't been able to try it yet in less than 40 degree temperatures, but it was the perfect weight for 40's and 50's. I suspect I'll wear it in the winter a lot as well when temps are in the 30's. I ordered a Large....I feel it runs a bit big. I am 5'-6" and about 170 lbs, very average size and figure. I could have worn it in a medium....but with the Large I can fit a fleece jacket, or hoodie, or heavy sweater under it.

Good, but....
I picked the prima-loft packable jacket over this because of the length. This was short enough that the sweater fleece jacket peaked out. It is handsome and a trimmer fit, but I needed to be able to layer and wanted a bit more warmth.

Love this coat.
This coat is beautiful, lightweight and warm. When it was delivered I thought that there was no way it could be warm. But boy was I wrong. The fit is perfect. I love that you can stow away the hood too.

I am in New England and had a lighter jacket and needed to upgrade. This is perfect - not too long but still has the longer bit in the back, and it is lightweight and super soft and comfy, while still being warm. I like that it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a down comforter out in public. If I were going on a long winter walk with the dog I’d reach for a heavier weight jacket but if I’m doing school drop off, going grocery shopping or walking around town, going in and out of stores, it is perfect. Also like that it’s not a puffer jacket since it looks much more tailored.

Love my Back Bay Jacket
I LOVE this coat. It is light weight yet warm. I do agree with others that in very cold (teens and twenties) temperatures, an extra layer is best, but in high twenties and above, it is warm. This is a great versatile jacket. If there was a half star, I would give this a 4 & 1/2 stars. The reason I am deducting 1/2 star is I wish it had a drawstring in the hem to help with keeping wind out. But, overall, this is a wonderful jacket, color was as it was shown on website, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
