We took our softest, bestselling fleece and added a hood and extra length for exceptionally warm, exceptionally cozy comfort and great coverage.
When our designers saw a photo of a USA team member wearing an L.L.Bean fleece on the historic 1990 Mount Everest International Peace Climb, they had to recreate it. Still our softest jacket ever, we've created many versions that all maintain the key features: just-right breathability, warmth and an adventurous spirit.
- In an ultraplush blend of 60% recycled polyester and 40% polyester.
- Machine wash and dry.
- Elastic binding on hood, cuffs and hem.
- Hooded for extra warmth and weather protection.
- Droptail hem is slightly longer in back for added coverage and warmth.
- Two handwarmer pockets.

Great, except for pocket placement
I love the material and the cut, but the pockets are so difficult to use. They are in the wrong place, IMO.

I hate the pockets
This is such a cozy fleece jacket, but it needs better pockets. The holes for the pockets are so small my hands have to be forced through them, but that’s if I can even find the holes that are way back on my flanks. Literally, the pocket holes are next to my kidneys. I hate them. I am going to give this jacket away to the next person who says they wish they had my jacket.

So very soft! Cozy
I purchased the shorter version of this & am in love with it. I came back to watch for the longer version to go on sale.
I find it warm enough to walk the dogs (high 40s-low 50s) & look forward to getting more wear when I visit family out of state.

My new favorite!
I love this *jacket & maybe with luck I’ll be able to get another one on sale. *the pockets are awkward, another inch or two forward would make them hand friendly. Not a deal killer for the snuggle-ness & comfort of the jacket.

Hi Pile Fleece Jackets for Very Cold Winters
LLBean's high pile fleece jackets are so warm in the winter if you do keep the temperatures in the 60's in the house. I have lost a lot of weight in the last year so now I am cold all the time. The high pile fleece is my go to for staying warm on very cold days. I have 4 of those jackets now in different colors. They fit great and are very high quality.
