Odd tailoring prevents 5 stars
This jacket is really nicely made and equals other high end Gore-tex parkas I own in features and quality, but I took off a star because of a quirk in the tailoring. The negative is that it is cut snug in the upper chest area and as a result pulls across the chest in an annoying way. This makes it poorly suited to many activities like skiing, etc. where you'd stretch your arms out. I know LL Bean has changed their fit to a more athletic type in recent years, but I own other athletic fit parkas and they don't pull across the chest like this one. I also bought two LL Bean down jackets in 2024 and it's the same with those. Great products but odd tailoring. Not a total deal breaker since I still like this jacket, but this could have otherwise been a 5 star product.

Too noisy
This was so crinkly and loud I sent it back. Otherwise it fit well and had nice features. But the sound like crinkling aluminum foil when I put it on or moved a lot=Nope!

nicely made but needs an inner mesh layer for sepa
Well made rain jacket but needs an inner mesh layer to provide separation from the laminate surface. Very uncomfortable when worn with just a t-shirt for example during warm weather. A great waterproof exterior doesn't help much if you're cold and clammy inside by being in contact with the impermeable laminate.

Pathfinder Gore-Tex Jacket II Men's Large Regular
I've worn the Gore-Tex (preferred) II jacket several times with no issues. I tried the jackets on at the store over my old L.L. Bean windproof/rain-resistant POLARTEC fleece jacket. The Large Reg. was the best fit. The Med. Reg. worn by itself felt OK, although a bit "fitted". The sleeve and body length were perfect as I normally wear Medium/Tall in Tees and shirts (longer in the body). Thank you, L.L. Bean, for carrying these sizes AND 35" waists in your LL jeans/pants!
The color with the yellow zippers really makes the jacket "pop".

Ayuh, listen 👂 up folks, Ye need not spend $600😈 on an Arcterx Goretex 🧥 coat !! Ol' LL 🫛🫘 BEAN has beat 'em @ less than half the price 😜! From experience, I tell Ye this has foolproof zipper, unlike on dat silly 🦖🦕 dinasoar named 🧥 jacket. Yassuh wicked roight, you betcha 😸!!

A Rain Shell Unlike Any Other
There is literally nothing like this rain shell currently available. Competitors offer similar claims, but only with their own proprietary rain materials/treatments - never with the promise and performance of GoreTex. This is a standout piece of rainwear - congratulations L.L. Bean!

Decent Price For Actual Gore-Tex
Fabric is extremely stiff is crunchy. One of the plastic teeth in the zipper was not molded correctly. Should’ve been caught during inspection. Works fine, but I expect better quality control for the price. I appreciate that you offer tall sizes.
