my favorite winter hiking, XC skiing, etc top!
I love LL Bean Cresta wool base layers. They do not stink--unlike polyester products, are very comfortable, and look nice. I own two of the patterned styles of this top (several years old and still going strong), and this year I bought a lovely orange one. Warmth, comfort, no-stink--what's not to love. One caveat: I would like to see a bit shorter sleeves. I'm 5'4", but not petite, and the sleeves are a tad too long.

Warm, Cozy, Comfy wool top
I like the weight and warmth of this top. The zipper feature is great and makes it easier to put on. It is the perfect weight for cool NM mornings, fits to size. I ordered and XS.

Keeps this old lady warm!
This mid-weight wool base layer keeps me warm, especially when there is wind, and it’s a lifesaver. I wear it all year, even in the summer when I’m sitting on the beach at dawn when it can be quite chilly here in the Pacific Northwest.

Merino is the perfect fabric.
I really like all of these Merino wool selections as base layers for skiing. They are also great as a layer for hiking. It would be great if they could do some more with nice patterns, I bought one a few years back that is great as a stand alone shirt.

High price but existent Midweight layer.
I would recommend this women's Cresta Midnight 250 T-Zip top I purchased a large it fits perfectly I am 5'9 175lbs. I live in New York state and use this to walk my Dog in temp as low as 0. My only complaint is the price is high.
