Rated 2 out of 5 by Richard52 from nice...until it gets wet. Also easy to rip The coat fits great, and is warm until about 20 degrees. Also, once the coat gets a little wet it is useless, which was disappointing. I used it to snow blow several times, and every time it got wet it lost all the insulation quality. The hood is great, and very functional. I have also had it get small rips, as the shell fabric is a little weak. I'll need to purchase another coat, but will keep this one, dealing with the limitation. As with several other recent purchases at LLB, I feel they are compromising quality. I wish they would simply charge a little more and not cut corners, as eventually it will hurt their business.

Rated 4 out of 5 by skiijunky from Lacking Down Lacking down in the panels of the back of the jacket. Let me start that my Whole family loves these jackets. This is the second one that I own. My first one is warm and filled well with down. The last one that I purchased is more of a late spring jacket. I always felt that it was less puffy than my first one. Upon investigating further i see that the panels on my back have little too no down in them. What down are in those panels are off to one side of the jacket. I still recommend the jacket to anyone wanting a light weight jacket but they are not made like they used to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JR1888 from An Awesome Product! Last Christmas, my wife asked me what I wanted and I told her one of those LLBean puff jackets. This is the one she got me. It is the jacket I wear almost every day of the winter. It is hard for me to believe how a jacket can be so light and so warm at the same time. It is a remarkable product and extremely well made. I love having it and glad that my wife bought this for me last year. It's the type of jacket you can wear in both chilly days as well as days of extreme cold with a sweater or hoody underneath. I love it! I hardly write reviews, but had to for this jacket, it really is a great jacket and worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Paulyboy from Excellent but a couple nitpicks.... I like this jacket. It had more down than I was expecting. Bought XL Tall. I’m 6’3” and 195 lbs. 70 years old. I’m active-row daily and like to hike. Wish it was a slimmer fit in the belly area to layer better under a shell. I think a Large(Tall) would’ve been too tight in the shoulders. So I’m stuck with an XL with too much room in the belly area. Maybe I should eat more pizza! PROS: Well made. Extra large pocket (open/no zip) on interior to stash stuff like gloves. Good amount of quality down throughout. Hood pulls on each side to tighten. The hem at waist pulls to tighten (both sides) CONS: Too baggy through the middle. Hood needs another pull on top back of head to work with side pulls to adjust fully.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marc from Good quality but a little bulky Good quality. The one negative is the large /puffy stitching with larger boxes of down, that makes the coat overall bulky and not as packable. The fit is a little larger, which makes it a comfortable coat/jacket or if you want to wear a sweat shirt underneath. However, if you want to wear it with just a t-shirt, then the jacket feels large (oversized) and bulky. Ordered at the end of season so I did not have a chance to test the warmth in the frigid cold winter or strong winds. It may happen next winter. Ordered the pine/ cedar color. It is very attractive and pleasant color, easy to accessorize with lots of clothing styles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gumshoe009 from Outstanding Before ordering I noted a number of what I considered whiny complaints from other reviewers. Nonetheless, I did order the jacket, have had it over a month and have worn it each day. It is slightly big on me but well within acceptable. I have had no issues with shifting down or cold spots. I have worn it fron 30-55 degrees and it is always comfortable, not too hot or cold. The jacket is incredibly light and I have had several positive comments on the color (green). It really is an outstanding jacket and am happy I ordered it in "tall" for the sleeve length is perfect. I have also worn it in light rain without problems as the fabric has minimal shedding properties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wiks from I'm impressed I'm 66 yrs. old and living in Minnesota. It's been a very cold fall with temperatures already in the single digits. When I got this jacket I was really surprised by how lightweight it is. Now that I've worn it in single-digit temps with a decent wind I am really happy with my purchase. Just what I wanted; light, warm , and it has a hood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MadMac from Amazing Jacket! I love this jacket! It's amazingly light - it almost doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything - but extremely warm for its weight. The fit is true to size and the attached hood is perfect - not too large or small and it's adjustable to fit around your face, and I really appreciate the coverage around the front of my neck. You wouldn't choose this jacket if you were going to be standing still in extremely cold conditions (ice fishing in northern Maine comes to mind), but it's perfect for 5-30 degrees with light to moderate activity.
