The original Maine Hunting Shoe was Leon Leonwood Bean's first product, introduced in 1912. Over the years, we've made lots of improvements to these boots, but hunters have told us that they miss the moccasin-like feel that our original boots had in the woods. So we set out to bring it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inaugural Still Hunt Just finished the inaugural still hunt with my newest (2nd) pair of 10" Maine Hunting Shoe on the Tug Hill Plateau of NY. My first pair (Gortex, insulated) needed resoling, but the service was no longer offered, so I treated myself to a new pair. I'm not disappointed. Sizing was easy (I wear a 12 so I ordered an 11). I love feeling the ground under my feet in these shoes. Plenty of room in the toe box. Construction is spot on. Big thanks to KEITH for his care and craftsmanship with this fine shoe. Hoping it'll last me a couple decades.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a convoluted sizing system! I can’t believe that LL Bean expects people to understand their convoluted sizing description. After using both their description and the “size finder” I still didn’t get a good fit. What a waste of time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same as it ever was I bought my first pair of these boots over 30 years ago. I do not hunt, but I used them for many tough activities such as snow shoveling, pouring concrete and heavy duty brush clearing. They are very valuable as a tick deterrent, as the 10” height allows you to tuck your pants inside them. My latest pair has all the same quality, workmanship and comfort as the originals with NO break-in period at all. I should only be so lucky to be able to wear these boots for the next 30 years and celebrate my 100th birthday wearing them!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great, iconic boot I have owned about two dozen pairs of LL Bean boots over the years. My favorite is the 10" hunting shoe. It is the perfect boot! I've gone through two of them and want to purchase a third new pair, but Bean no longer offers the tan on brown boot. They only offer the brown on brown. The 10" tan on brown is no longer offered by the company, and that is truly disappointing. If you look at their flagship store, you will find a massive model of the 10" tan on brown Bean boot. I truly wish they would bring it back. The 10" brown on brown that I owned was gorgeous. It was the perfect boot, even if I didn't love the color. I eventually gave them away with nearly zero marks on it. Buy an LL Bean boot. You'll be glad you did!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good classic boot. Great comfortable light boot. Very good boot for late spring, summer and fall boot. This boot is not great for winter. The fit of this boot has an athletic feel and is lightweight. I normally wear a 10.5 regular but I wear a 8 wide in these. This boot has the same awesome fit when I started wearing them 30 years ago.
