Our legendary Maine-made Bean Boot. Built for the road less traveled by "L.L." himself in 1912 and keeping feet comfortable ever since.
Whoever says, "they don't build things like they used to," doesn't own a pair of these. Our signature boots are still sewn right here in Maine - one pair at a time - by expert craftspeople whose technical skills and passion for their work is evident in every pair they make. As rugged and hardworking as they were over 100 years ago, chances are you'll only ever need one pair.
- Waterproof rubber boot bottom keeps feet dry.
- Legendary chain-tread outsole gives reliable traction.
- Uniquely shaped foot form offers comfort and stability, and a steel shank adds support.
- Iconic triple-needle stitching provides long-lasting durability.
- Waterproof full-grain leather upper sheds rain and snow.
- Lace-up design provides secure and customizable fit. Laces not waterproof.
- Not designed to stay submerged in water.
- Best for rain, mud and other wet conditions.

Large and Inflexible
I wear a size 8 in all my other shoes and boots, so I ordered a size 7. With standard cotton Bobby socks they were still a full size too big. I know these aren’t intended for hiking or longs walks, but I was hoping they’d work. Nope, not flexible. The leather ankle is stiff. I’ll try the gum shoes or waterproof hiking shoes.

Bean boots comfort and perfect fit
Needed a waterproof boot for snow and rainy weather. This boot fits the need. At 81 years if age I don't take long walks, but like to keep my balance and feet dry. My suede boots look pretty, but get wet and so do my toes and socks. Perfect buy!

My Favorite Bean Boot
I bought this boot for three reasons. It is taller than my former favorite, the bean gum shoe and gives better ankle support out walking. It is not as tall as my other bean boots, which require more lacing/unlacing to put on and take off, but are great for walking through brush, leaves and snow. It was available in narrow width, which fits my foot better with midweight socks.
It is now my favorite footwear for everyday use outside the house in cooler or wet weather.

Exactly what I wanted!
My son told me to buy these for a trip to New York in January. They arrived today and they’re just what I need. The insoles are removable so I can put my orthotics in easily. There’s plenty of room for thick socks. My ankles and feet are small-boned so the boots don’t lace up tightly yet. I recommend wearing them around before you need them to help break in the leather.

Ouch
Ouch. The leather part was rubbing, uncomfortable, and did not conform to the leg. I ordered my usual size, 11 wide, and it was way too big. Returned.

Amazing…once you get them on!
I’ve owned these boots for 10 - maybe more actually years. I really only wear them in the fall/winter so they’ve lasted forever and are still like-new actually if I cleaned them. They’re the L.L. Bean quality you know and live in a timeless New Englandah boot. The huge downfall to these are that the tongue is connected to the top of the boot so there’s not a ton of room to get your foot in. After all these years it’s just as hard and I’m so tired of trying to tug them on with hulk-strength I wear them mostly just for shoveling snow now because of it. I have a size 10.5 foot so this could be just an issue for big foot ladies lol. If you have lots of hulk strength, enjoy! They’re truly the best once they’re on your feet!!
