Very unhappy with this new fabric.
Extremely unhappy with my purchase!
Why, oh why, has Bean changed this turtleneck top? Why have they made this top so much heavier? Why have they remade it with fabric so unbreathable and clammy?
This used to be a nice layering top. But now it feels like a sweater more than a jersey.
I have purchased this turtleneck for years. And loved it for its simplicity and versatility. It used to be a lovely weight for layering here in New England. I’ve learned to allow for shrinking, but still this top was a staple in my wardrobe. I repeat, for years I have bought this same top.
I just ordered a couple more to replace ones that have worn out. When I pulled them out of the package, I had to check the item number to be sure I had ordered the right top. I repeat, it feels like I am wearing a sweater. It is that much heavier than the original and the fabric doesn’t breathe. Yuck.

Nice fabric but odd fit
Haven't worn t-necks in a long time, prefer v-necks. Thought I would try these but, even with a small head, it was very tight going over my head. The length was okay but it was very full at the bottom along the hem and looked strange. Both colors were very pretty but I returned the shirts.

Closet staple! Please add new colors!
After returning a few other brands due to quality and fabric I had almost given up. Grateful that I decided to give this one a try. Not silky, just thick cotton that will actually keep you warm. Please add DARK NAVY BLUE & DARK GREEN

It shrunk at the first wash in cool water and gentle drying. It was perfect until then. Now it is useless

Order Accordingly to Allow for Shrinkage
I am grateful to a previous reviewer who suggested purchasing this turtleneck one size larger than normally worn and in size tall, even if one is of shorter stature (I'm 5'4"). I followed her suggestions; and after three cold-water washings and drying on low, it fits perfectly. The shrinkage in the body length was 2.75"; the sleeves shrunk 2.5". I'm hopeful that it won't continue to shrink with each wash. It would be so helpful if L. L. Bean would have these manufactured with pre-shrunk cotton. As for the fabric thickness, it's perfect for Wisconsin weather.
