This midweight base layer top is our most versatile--we love wearing it for hikes, or layering under a winter jacket for that first snowshoe of the season.

These are awful
What happened?? These used to be good, solid long johns. This new version is awful, weird and fuzzy inside in all the wrong ways. If you've bought these before, LOOK OUT. They've completely revamped them, nothing like last year's. What a downgrade.

Not the same as it used to be. Definitely thinner.
Just received this today and am disappointed. I’ve been buying this same item for years and while it now has an orange detail on the inside of the collar, I didn’t expect any significant changes without getting a heads up. When a manufacturer makes changes to its products it should alert its customers. This newer base layer no longer feels “midweight” to me.

Perfect thermal!

Perfect Base Layer
These base layers are perfect in every way. They are super soft against the skin with no itching whatsoever. They fit perfectly and snuggly but not tightly. They are surprisingly warm when out in the cold, but also perfectly comfortable indoors. The quality is everything you'd expect from L.L. Bean - outstanding. At first I bought only two to try them out, and I liked them so much that I bought six more.

Can’t be beat for getting through the winter!
I use these base layers when layering clothing for walking my dog in the winter. This past winter the wind was a bigger issue in January and February than normal and these kept me warm.
