That's why we designed our L.L.Bean Base Layers to take the guesswork out of finding the right weight, or fabric, or fit. This midweight base layer top is our most versatile--we love wearing it for hikes, or layering under a winter jacket for that first snowshoe of the season.

Can’t be beat for getting through the winter!
I use these base layers when layering clothing for walking my dog in the winter. This past winter the wind was a bigger issue in January and February than normal and these kept me warm.

Great lounge-about winter shirt for chilly days!
I ordered an oversized XL and it’s been my go-to for this winter’s inside days. Incredibly comfortable as when you put this on, it feels soft and instantly satisfying. I love it so much, I ordered another. I have no doubt this would be a great base-layer, but as indoor attire, in my opinion, it has no peers. Amazing.

I bought two of these in different colors for my husband's birthday and Christmas. He absolutely loves them, they fit perfectly and are not bulky, so he can add another shirt over if needed, but he says this mid weight shirt keeps him warm on rainy and cold days. They wash and wear well, they become softer with each wash. After washing and drying there is no thinning of material. This is his first Bean product and he is very satisfied. I will definitely come back to look for more clothing when he needs it.

Wore this base layer on the first day while golfing. Wind was blowing at 20 and it was about 50 degrees outside. The item was so comfortable and did an outstanding job at keeping me warm and preventing the wind from breaking through. Highly recommend this for any outdoor activity.
