Functional and WARM!
I absolutely LOVE this heavyweight hoodie. I wasn't sure how it would fit me, but it is a brilliant design (I have a degree in fashion design). I'm now a wildlife photographer and spend many hours in the field during the winter searching for wildlife. On days that the temps fall into the single digits, I pair it with LL Bean's Simple Soft Base Layer and it is just perfect. This hoodie is very functional for my active needs, especially when keeping my neck and head warm. I now own several!

Perfect for Cold Ski Days
I debated between the hoodie and the crewneck last season and ended up with the crewneck. The crewneck is warm and I have zero complaints—but after one super windy ski lift ride with the wind at our backs, I wished I had gotten the hoodie. I tried to purchase it, but it was sold out last year.
I purchased the hoodie this season for both me and my boyfriend and holy smokes—this is a game changer for warmth! I love it so much that I immediately came online to buy a second one, and of course, it’s already sold out.
I wore only this under my not-so-warm-helmet (instead of my usual neck/head warmer) and stayed very warm all day in the mid-20s. The one-piece hood really helps keep body heat trapped in the shirt, and I even took off my base-layer jacket mid-morning I was warmer than usual!
For reference, I am a 5'3", 138lb, 49-year-old female and ordered the petite medium—it fits perfectly. It has also held up well through both washing and drying.

Perfect under layer
This was the perfect under layer for our Ice cave tour in Iceland. The hood was great and not too bulky under the helmet and the face covering didn’t make me feel claustrophobic.

So happy with this purchase!
I am very happy with this base layer, I am active early before the sun is up and it is chilly. I love the design of the hood, the war it wraps around the front of my face…especially for cycling! I was surprised how warm this is and on the cooler mornings, below freezing, I do layer it…and I am warm! It is a great design for being active and good quality.

Fantastic, extra warm base layer.
Perfect for skiing Vail and Beaver Creek. Sufficient on its own under ski jacket with bib snow pants when in the upper 30s, just with another base layer in the upper 20s. Great face mask too!
