This item says machine wash and dry but after following all the directions washing ruined my raincoat! It was several years old, in great condition as I rarely wear it but I decided to wash it to take on vacation. The tape that sealed the seams is falling off and the coat is not as sturdy, the fabric feels flimsy. Very disappointing and LL Bean did not consider it a defect.
