NOT waterproof
I bought this jacket, and the Trail Model Rain Pants, for a trip to Alaska. We were required to have waterproof rain gear because we would be hiking every day, rain or shine. Fortunately we did not have the usual rainy weather. At home I've worn them for short walks to/from my car during rainy weather and each time I've felt like water soaked through the fabric almost immediately. I'm very disappointed because I love the fit, the description for this jacket clearly said "waterproof" - 3 times, and it wasn't cheap. If we had the usual rainy weather in Alaska, I would have been soaked, miserable, and very angry

Great Lightweight Jacket
I've been wearing this for the current nor' easter and it's really keeping me dry. Walking miles in NYC so the test is real :-D It's perfect for warmer temps or as a shell with layers. The hood is great, stays in place and keeps my hair dry. The velcro over the zipper is also great. Overall really well designed rain jacket. I'm very happy with is purchase.
