Excellent warmth and fit; super light
This coat is well worth the expense. I don't normally post reviews and share my dimensions, but I do find it helpful when others do so, I am 5'8", 200 lbs, athletic build, narrow chested but large breasted. The x-large fit perfectly especially in the shoulders and chest. It was slightly fitted providing a nice silhouette. The coat is extremely warm which is nice for coastal Northeast climates, and very light. I love my wool coats but it is nice not having that extra weight. I do love the white but I always spill coffee on myself when wearing white so I purchased the shadow green. I like the color although wish it reflected more green and less shadow. Blue is my favorite color so perhaps that will be offered in the future. I'm very happy with my purchase. It came sealed in a plastic bag and in perfect condition. I like the quality of the zipper and the flap that covers it. I will enjoy this jacket for many seasons to come. Thank you L.L. Bean. Keep up the good work!

Great coat but not for me
I loved many features of this coat: it fits in a more streamlined way than a puffer coat. It is nicely designed and very warm without a lot of weight. It is a coat for a pro who needs protection in winter weather, like a commuter or soccer mom or coach. Now that I am retired, I don't need so much in one coat. Trying this on, I realized I need something to accommodate layers. This is coat will keep you warm over a light sweater.

LOVE!
I was waiting for a cold rainy day before I wrote my review, and now that we had one (mid-30s, rain, wind), I can say....I LOVE THIS COAT!!! It is warm without being super bulky, and it absolutely 100% is waterproof! The length is awesome, too. I take the train and then have a 15-minute walk to our office in Boston from South Station, and I very much appreciated that my thighs stayed dry. I am not super worried about a flattering fit for my winter coats (more concerned with if they keep out the wind or not) but I actually do think this one is a nice shape. I am 5'6", 175, athletic build with broader shoulders, and I ordered a Large. (For comparisons, I wear a large in L.L.Bean, XL for charharrt coats, L in shirts from L.L.Bean, Life is Good, Carharrt, and Express.) I have been able to wear some of my bulkier turtleneck sweaters under it with plenty of room. While I do not wear it for farm/horse chores, this coat is EXACTLY what I needed for work, errands, winter dinners out, date nights, etc. Thank you, L.L.Bean!!

Waterproof Ultralight Down Coat
Great Coat! So far true to size/fit, warmth, and lightweight/comfort. It hasn't rained for the waterproof part yet, but it holds up well in the wind. The hood is designed to stay up without impairing vision. It's very pretty. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars vs. 5 is you have to be careful zipping it up because it wants to catch the inside fabric and I can foresee the zipper tearing it. You just can't be yabbing on the phone or hurriedly zipping without thinking or you'll catch it every time. Otherwise seems perfect in every way.
