Product Details
In a class all its own, our revolutionary 850 coat defies cold, wet weather - and comparison. We combined all the best outerwear technology - innovative DownTek fill, 850-fill-power and a Pertex Quantum nylon shell - for unbeatable performance.
We start with premium 850 down, which provides more warmth for its weight, and then treat it with revolutionary DownTek that allows our jackets to do what many others can't. Unlike ordinary untreated down that soaks up moisture, ours repels water and dries faster so it stays light, lofty and comfortable, longer.
- Shell and lining: 100% nylon ripstop.
- Machine wash and dry.
- Water Resistant: Yes
- Hooded: Yes, attached, insulated adjustable hood

850 update from 2017 850 Jacket
My wife loves this version of the 850, especially the length giving her more coverage on her legs.

Great lightweight coat.
Very lightweight. Fabric is so thin it snagged easily.

Great Choice
This coat is perfect in size, comfort, lightness. It is a real petite fit. Love the zip pockets and interior pocket. The hood stays up.

The coat is bulky. Not what I expected... four or five years ago I bought a wonderful LL. Bean light down coat that packs into a small pouch. I have worn that coat in all kinds of Wshington DC weather throghout the years. It is the most versatile coat I have ever owned. I had hoped from the advertising that tis would be similar.. Not. I believe your description could be more specific.

new colour thoughts from
New brighter, lighter colours…please!
I have 2 of your short ultralight jackets and love them! I’ve been waiting for your 3/4 length ultralight coat in AQUA. Two years, so far no colour change. Perhaps, your designer might consider branching out with colours that women might enjoy wearing. Just a thought. Also, what’s with the ‘grey’ lining inside the hood and collar? Not a good look, perhaps the same colour as the coat.

Bring back the old version and some new colors!
The old version had thicker fabric, no hood and nice colors like aqua. The price has gone up, the new coat is thinner, and it’s the same boring colors. Please make one with a detachable hood and $300?? Way too much for what you get.

Price jumps up while quality goes down
This jacket made it through one Northern Maine winter before stitching coming loose and a rip in the elbow which means every time I wear it I am followed by a trial of down feathers coming out of the sleeve. I loved the cut and shape of the jacket so much, however, that I was willing to purchase again. Maybe someday will when they offer more than the same 4 drab colors they’ve had the last two years.
