The original fisherman's sweaters of the Aran Islands were knit with designs that told stories of a rich coastal heritage. Very nice sweater
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter and she absolutely loved it. The fit is spot on, and it’s not too heavy or thin. She likes that she can wear it for work and casual settings.

Not for me
I tried to like this sweater because it was 100% cotton and liked the style.I got the beige which I thought would be more of a cream color. I really looked awful in this color because it had yellow undertones .I also didn’t care for the stiffness of the sweater, even though I washed it according to their instructions.

Have many, this makes one more
Have a bunch from other years too, both cardigans and crew neck. I love them. They are timeless and the natural fabric is perfect if that's what you like. Plus if you take care when you wash them they hold up really well, just take a long time to dry on a rack even after rolling in a towel! Well worth the effort! Fit as expected. Substantial fabric. Great quality. Will snag if not careful because of the loose knit.

Thick but not stylish on me-instantly aged me
I thought this sweater would be cute over a sleeveless blouse or t-shirt. The description said fitted which caught my attention as I don't like loose and relxed fit clothing. I ordered this in XS as LL Bean tends to run a little large in my opinion. Sweater arrived quickly, Tried it on, hated it I looked about 10-15 years older than I am (I'm 45 for reference). The material is thick and for whatever reason this "fitted" cardigan did not do my small frame any justice. Even my husband said it made me look older. For the price I paid for this sweater I was expecting something more stylish and curvy and sophisticated. It just didn't do it for me. I returned it immediately

Wish it had pockets.
Nice cardigan for spring and fall (for me, not warm enough for cold mid-Atlantic winters). I also have this in size Large in the shawl-collar style in grey and natural/off-white from many years ago. I am between L and XL in different LLBean clothes, and I might have been able to go with a Large instead of XL but since there is not an LLBean store near me, I was not able to try on for size; I went with the XL for the looser fit for layering and for a better fit on top.
Pros: 100% cotton, cable-knit pattern, neutral and practical navy color which goes with many things.
Cons: Lack of pockets! Label says made in China; I would like to see more LLBean clothes made in the USA.
