This exclusive flannel shirt is woven just for us by true artisans in Portugal. These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn't automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the "touch test." Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.

Versatile Flannel for Warmth, Fit, and Color
This is my third plaid flannel from L.L.Bean. The colors are very nice and coordinate with several of my knit tops, so that I can use the shirt in place of a jacket. The shirts are soft, warm, and wash well. I recommend drying partially on low heat to remove wrinkles and to fluff the fabric and then hanging to complete drying. (Ironing would spoil the natural nap of the flannel, so put the iron away.) One size larger than a knit top works well to use the flannel as a jacket.

Please bring back Petite XXS!
I ordered two Petite XS shirts and they turned out to be HUGE on me. (I'm 5.7 feet and weigh 120 pounds.) Please bring back the Petite XXS size in this shirt, L.L. Bean. I also found the flannel to be very thin, and the colours to be far more drab in person than pictured online. Both shirts are both going back and I am extremely disappointed!

Best flannel shirt around
Fits well, loose enough to wear a shirt under it. It’s nice and soft and keeps me warm on chilly days. And the colors are vibrant and bright. This is my third scotch plaid shirt! Love, love, love!

Disappointed
I have two others of this shirt in significantly different colors. I thought the “indigo” with some cream and tan in it, would offer some nice variety.
Unfortunately, seems that they’re trying to cut costs and cutting the fabric a little smaller than previously. The other two tartans that I have, same size, petite/small, are indeed relaxed fit. This one I felt like I was stuffed into a sausage skin. Upon comparing the shirts, literally back to back, the back was narrower, the two front halves were each a little narrower, the armhole was significantly smaller.
Sadly, returning.

The best flannel
My husband and I have many of these wonderful shirts. I have bought the occasional shirt from other stores in an attempt to save a few bucks, but have sent them all back because the softness and quality cannot match these. They are THE BEST in softness and warmth, and last for years.
