Rated 5 out of 5 by from stylish and cozy where to start..... I was strolling by the rack and my husband pointed out the green coat (as that's my favorite color) suggested I try it on, then a customer came by and commented on how well it fit. it's not lined, so the 100% wool drapes but the lines have shape, so it's definitely a coat, not a sweater as some has said. Now, it isn't for the dead of winter or out in a snow storm, but for a car coat, an out shopping coat, a stroll around town, it is going to be exactly what I was looking for! waiting for the weather to change as the leaves are starting I'm very happy with my purchase :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coat! This coat is wonderful and stylish and forgiving. It's warm enough to get me through Oklahoma wind and winter. It's stylish--I wear it while walking the dog (I wanted something mid-thigh in length); I wear it to the grocery; I wear it to church. The collar even keeps my ears warm when the car windows are down so the dog can hang out the back window. I say it's forgiving because it's slightly stretchy so It still fits nicely over a light sweater. The big buttons make unbuttoning one-handed a breeze. The zip pockets are a plus. I'm tall (5'10) and mildly overweight. The XL fit is just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase! I was unsure about this coat when I first purchased it because it's unlined, but I found that it's insignificant because the seams are nicely finished. The coat has been a wonderful purchase. I was looking for something that I could use for either casual or work and it fits the bill for both. It's very lightweight, but warm and being able to button up the collar against the wind and cold is a nice added feature. I usually wear an XS, but went one size up so that I could comfortably wear sweaters with it and the size is perfect. I've received many compliments on the look of the coat. I would highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! As others have commented (and the description clearly states) this is a lightweight boiled wool. It's a lovely Italian fabric, but not the heavy-gauge Austrian boiled wool some were expecting. Think of it as a sweater coat, perfect year-round in warmer climates, and for shoulder season elsewhere. I'm loving the green! It's not as bright a bottle-green as shown in the catalogue, but more of a deep, earthy cypress/loden green...very "euro-mode", very lovely. The coat is very well constructed, and the tailoring is quite flattering. Sizing is consistent with other LLBean sizing, no guesswork there. This coat will layer easily, and still look tailored. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great LIghtweight Coat I was looking for a lightweight car coat to wear when it is about 49-60 degrees (we don't get frigid here in NC alot, I do have a parka for that weather). I searched the ENTIRE internet and couldn't find one a) that was priced right and b) didn't look like grandma's coat. This is perfect, yes it is unlined, but it is very well made, and fits great. The sleeves are a little long, even thought it is a petite, but in turning up the cuff, there is a pretty black satin binding that makes it look like it is supposed to be that way. Definitely recommend this lovely coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Coat - classic and elegant! This coat is simply beautiful. Classic lines, great fit, wonderful fabric. I ordered red, it's a deep rich red. As many others have said, it's unlined. To me, that is a plus. Often times linings can restrict movement. This coast moves and stretches with you. It's a bit big (with no layering) but it gives plenty of room to layer even the heaviest of sweaters. I live in FL but travel north for work. This is perfect for our chilly nights and I will layer for colder weather. I wore it with short sleeves and it is a tad scratchy but didn't bother me. It's versatile and classic. With LL Bean quality, I'm sure I'll wear for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many compliments! First, let me say that I do not understand many reviewers’ criticisms. E.g., “it’s unlined, I should have read the reviews,” while the description clearly describes it as “unlined.” Before reading the reviews, how about reading the actual description?! What’s the issue, anyway, with the lack of lining: it’s a light coat, presumably not worn next to the skin! Also, “no zippered security pockets as shown” — both pockets in fact have (hidden) zippers! This is a classic, slimming style on which I’ve already received many compliments! I love the Italian boiled wool. The orchid color is indeed very bright, so be prepared! (I love it) I feel so good in this coat and am very glad I bought it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed It was my own fault because I did not read the fine print nor the reviews. I had purchased 2 other winter coats from LLBean over the past couple of years and they were of exceptional quality, so was totally surprised when I received this one and it was unlined, the wool almost see-through. As other reviewers pointed out, it is more like a sweater than a coat. It was about the same price as the other coats I purchased, so I expected the same quality. Definitely not worth the price, but I learned an important lesson for future on-line purchases.
