Rated 5 out of 5 by arum8lily from So Comfortable! I purchased my Alpine Waterproof Hiking Boots in September. I've been using them since then. They are just so comfortable. They did not need to be broken in like most boots. They give the ankles excellent support. The laces are long so can be tied in any way with lace left over. They are not a heavy boot weight wise yet give the feet great support & bounce while walking. They are definitely waterproof. I usually take a size 9 1/2 or 10 in shoes. I ordered size 10 and wear a thick sock with them - the fit is perfect. An excellent product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by GraceInWanderland from Great support and protection I've only worn these for one hike, but it was a pretty difficult and rocky climb, and these boots were a dream. I felt like I was walking on air. They give great ankle support and protection as well as providing protection on the sole so your feet don't get sore walking over rocks and rough terrain. I only walked through minor puddles, so I didn't give the waterproofing a good test. I was a little worried my feet would get too hot since they did begin to get sweaty just trying them on around the house. I did not find that to be the case during the hike, though. My feet were comfortable throughout. It was a two-hour hike in mid-50s temps. I'm excited to keep hiking with these boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by NoviceHiker11 from Amazing Hiking Boot! I HIGHLY recommend this boot. After spending hours trying on all of the most well-known brands (Merryl/Keens/Salomon) I ended up at the LL Bean Outlet in a last stitch attempt to find a hiking boot for my trip to Acadia. These boots require almost no breaking in ahead of time. They are perfect for someone with a slightly wider foot and for those who have found that they run between sizes on a Merryl or a Keen. I bought them the day before I did a pretty technical climb and has zero blistering or rubbing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RochesterBootcamp from Extreme Comfort These boots require no break in period. They feel great right out of the box. I have plantar fasciitis and problems related to arch support. Plenty of support and cushioning with a sneaker type sole and light weight. Love them so much I am considering another pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by geoskimom from Shouldn't have sized up Ordered 1/2 size larger than usual based on some reviewer’s suggestions. That was the wrong decision. Should have gone with my usual LLBean size. There would have been plenty of room with a single wool hiking-weight sock. With the larger boot I would have had to wear extra thick ragg wool socks and probably liner socks, too. Plenty comfy. Heel stayed put. Not much ankle support allowed ankle to collapse inwards so not recommended for over pronators. Liked the look of the warm brown leather with the forest green laces. Would exchange for smaller size, but that won’t solve the ankle collapse problem. But if they fit your feet, go for them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Katie from Very Good Shoe I bought these hikers to replace a pair that I bought from LL Bean over ten years ago. Right out of the box they felt good, and I was able to wear them all day. I haven't worn them hiking yet, but I wear them to work and normally walk between three to five miles a day. The shoes don't pinch around my ankles, but they offer good support. My only complaint is that they are not as warm as I would have liked. But, they weren't advertised as such, so it is not the fault of the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Izzy from Wow!! I am more of a casual hiker and have no plans of doing any true rugged trails-So I wasn’t quite looking For a true heavy boot, but often sneakers have not been quite enough. All I can say is WOW these are the perfect crossover for someone like me. Durable Grip, waterproof, just enough ankle support and light and comfy like a sneaker. I could not be happier with these. I have large feet as well (11/12 sometimes wide) and the 11s fit like a glove. LOVELOVELOVE

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hiker65 from Comfortable, great fit, waterproof This is the first time I bought these shoes and would definitely buy again! No break in time needed, very comfortable. Used for hiking on photo shoots they kept my feet dry while out in the wet. I ordered my normal size and they fit perfect.
