Rated 3 out of 5 by outdoorsactivewoman from Very nice but Not wide Has a lot of excellent features, but this is supposed to be a wide boot, and my toe area is just on the boarder of regular and wide, and this boot is not wide enough in the toe area - heel area is fine. This is a common problem in most womens active shoe wear - not wide enough in toe area - or if it is, then the heel is too wide. A hiking shoe should not fit like a dress shoe - you need extra space for the toes when going downhill or your toes will hit and you could lose a toe nail or get a deformed toe nail which can easily lead to toe nail fungus in an unhealthy toe. If you have normal width feet - buy the wide and you will probably love the boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LizLovesNature1 from Women’s Gore-Tex Cresta Hiking Boots, Leather This is what a hiking boot should be--sturdy, comfortable, and providing support. If these last as long as my last LLBean hiking boots lasted--18 years of daily winter wear plus year-round hikes and several backpacking trips--I'll be very happy. These boots are made of good leather and Vibram soles, are easy to care for (yes, leather does require care) and they're really comfortable. (I'm so glad LLBean makes boots in wide widths.) I wear mine with polypropylene or similar sock liners plus thick ragg wool socks and my feet stay comfortable and blister-free. IMHO, these boots are well worth the price when you consider their comfort and longevity.

Rated 1 out of 5 by molllie from A Disappointment Having had 2 previous pairs of these boots that I've loved, I was so happy to find that they were still being made. Unfortunately I discovered they are NOT exactly the same boot. My current, but very worn, boot is a 7M but when I received the new 7M I found it was too tight in the toe box. I then ordered a 7W but it was still too tight. I then realized they are now being made in a different country, so the manufacturing appears to have changed. And when I compared my old 7M to the new 7W, my OLD MEDIUMS are WIDER than the new wides. I've now returned both new pairs and will probably wait until I absolutely have to throw my old boots away before I try again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shoonte from Best Boots EVER! I have had 2 pairs of Cresta Hiking boots over the last 20 years--I'm getting ready to purchase my 3rd pair--I am incredibly hard on my shoes, especially hiking boots. Even when I've worn them out and retire them to "stable/barn duty", they continue to last for another couple of years (stable duty is beyond destructive on shoes) - They are comfortable out of the box. I'm shocked at the price increase from the last time I purchased though. Almost $100 increase from the 1st pair to this last pair. Thankfully they last forever. Highly recommend these boots--I have terrible foot issues and these boots are hands down the most comfortable boots I own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shady from Can I give more than 5 stars? I bought these boots more than 20 years ago. I don't have "easy" feet so I didn't have high hopes. These boots felt great right out of the box. In the past 2 decades, they have carried me thousands of miles over rocky, muddy, and snowy terrain, and have been the envy of all my hiking buddies. Only recently has one boot started splitting from the sole. I actually considered finding someone to repair them, but then I realized one pair every 20+ years is pretty darned good. So I'm getting ready to buy my second pair as soon as they're back in stock. Here's to hoping my second pair will last as long as my first!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Beckie from Cold and Wet I was so excited to buy these shoes. They are a little expensive, but a good pair of shoes is worth the investment— especially living in New England. I bought the “boot guard” waterproofing treatment, and started treating them right away. The first 2 and a half seasons, the boots were great! Comfortable and supportive, even for my high-arched, wide feet. Then they started leaking. The snow soaks right through the boots, leaving my feet icy and cold. For such expensive boots, this was really disappointing. Though they were comfy, I don’t think I can justify another pair, if they are only going to last a few seasons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PonygalXpress from BEST BOOTS EVER!!! I have owned these boots for about 10 years now. I've used these boots for everything including when it's raining. They are my Go-To Boots! They fit excellent and are very comfortable for long periods of time and are very rugged; they can stand up to the punishment I've given them while working outdoors. I'm getting another pair for when I can no longer wear my current boots. The only thing that upsets me is the price, they are very expensive which makes it out of reach for a lot of other people who would love to buy these boots. If you do buy them, trust me!!! you will NOT be sorry. LL Bean...Please never discontinue these boots, they are a real good thing! Thanks for having them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by CityParksSteph from Sizing is Off I bought my first pair of Cresta's in late 2016. They were my go to hiking shoe until the sole started separating from the leather. Overall I liked the shoe, but having the glue and sole start to separate after 2 years left me a bit dissatisfied. I recently purchased a replacement pair thinking that maybe it was just a minor manufacturing defect in my batch. However, when I ordered new Cresta's in the exact same size (9), the sizing was completely off. My shoes are cramped in the toe box, scraping the front of the shoe. I haven't undergone any foot changes in the last 2 years. These are literally the only shoe repurchase that just does not match up with older stock sizing.
