These are great blankets; they are warm and they breathe (I cannot sleep under polyester which does not allow for circulation). When summer came I took blankets to cleaners to wash and then put them away. I just recently put them back on the beds and they have shrunk. I am very disappointed! Since my machines are too small for queen blanket, I plan to have blankets dry cleaned next.

I was a little apprehensive about washing it as I was afraid it would shrink, but I did wash it according to the instructions before I put it on the bed and, as far as I can tell, it did not shrink. And it softened up nicely. Very pleased.

It serves well as a layer on our bed providing warmth at night, but not so much that we wake up hot. The blanket is also well designed for the price. Exactly what I expect from L.L. Bean.
