They'll do - but not like the good old days
Sizing (on-line purchase) ran small, especially in waist, and grows smaller after washing/air drying. Fabric is stiffer and more substantial than most garden variety khaki's available elsewhere, but softens up nicely with repeated washing.
I've worn Bean khaki's for decades, all the way back to college days. Back then, they were the avatar... fit/finish/construction. Like anything mass produced, those reliable qualities have unevenly succumbed to compromises. Today's version has become that avatar's... nephew?

Traditional Pleated Guy Goes Flat Front with Ease
I’m old school, pleated front was my style, but i absolutely love how these fit. They are a comfortable as my LL Bean jeans 👖 with the fashion sense of traditional khaki pants.
BTW I like, need a little extra room in thighs, these are pretty especially so for flat front pants. I really enjoy them!

Reliable Chinos I Buy Every Year
Before I found these chinos, I was frustrated by the unreliable fit and quality of other manufacturers. I need two or three new pairs of casual dress pants each year and I have no interest in trying them on. These always fit as expected and are well-made and durable.
