Rated 1 out of 5 by mdc2 from What happened to my favorite chino's? I used to buy these chino's all the time. The quality of the fabric was great - they were heavy cotton, comfortable, kept their crease, little to no ironing required and would wear well for a long time. This latest pair I purchased were not the same pants I used to buy or brag about. They are a cheap imitation of the original. They are stiff but only becuase of a coating on the cotton. I will not be back to buy these again. LL Bean was always a staple in my closet for their durable materials and great quality for a reasonable price. Now they are the same as every other chino out there - cheap, uncomfortable and unflattering after two washes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Vaccinium from Durability leaves a lot to be desired! These trousers are light and soft and comfortable, but durability leaves a lot to be desired. I wore them as work-casual in rotation with other pants, and took them on an undemanding vacation (mainly rental cars and indoor attractions). After six months they have developed ragged holes in the cuffs and thighs, and can no longer be worn in polite society. Other trousers in my wardrobe experienced the same treatment and they're still going strong. I suggest that LLB try a heavier weight of fabric, and consider adding 10-20% polyester to improve abrasion resistance. This might add slightly to the price, but the improvement in wear would be worth the investment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tnort from fantastic pants 19 year old firefighter these pants are my station pants and they work fantastically even though they weren't even meant to be used as work pants. I have 3 pairs now and all of them have been put to work from rope rescues to fires, never being soft on them. these pants exceeded my expectations and fit great. I am younger so I ordered the natural fit since they ride on the actual waist. I would recommend classic fit for older gentleman looking for the pants to ride on the natural waist. one little down side is that though all of my pants are still in service the bottoms did fray relatively quickly. But I am also wearing them in extreme conditions and like my pants on the longer side anyway.

Rated 3 out of 5 by WifeofWorcester from Mixed feelings I love that these pants are stain-resistant and wrinkle-resistant. They come out of the dryer looking absolutely perfect. They fit my husband very well and looked very "put-together". Unfortunately, some of the pairs have worn out more quickly than expected, both frayed hems and small holes worn through the rump, right under the back pocket. Usually, my husband can get at least a couple years out of a pair of pants before they even start to fray, but after about a year, I had to get rid of these. It's too bad. They had so much else going for them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DCdoug from Tight and baggy Material and construction appear fine. Expect that pants would wear fine. These pants are made in China. Fit me too tight in the waist. Baggy from the waist down and looks like they took a pair of 34 X 34 and altered them to my request for 34 X 29. Crotch hangs low and they are baggy enough for clown use. To be fair, I compared with recent khakis by Dockers and Polo. Can easily fit my thumbs under the waists of each. Also, the cuts on alternatives much more complimentary and the fit in crotch is better and comfortable. I will be returning these (at my cost). Also, won't be doing later holiday shopping on the site. Less than half of order arrived as represented on website.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MrRow from Fraying at bottom of trouser, 2 pairs, 1 frayed I got 2 pairs of these pants (#212332) at the same time as a gift. One pair frayed at the bottom of the pant legs within a few weeks of wearing them. I nursed them along but they are so badly frayed after a year, that I have to replace them. The second pair, is just starting to fray ever so slightly. I have no idea why one pair would fray so quickly and the other pair would not. Both get the same wear and tear and care, so it must be the fabric. Disappointed, but I really like the second pair, they are comfortable, don't wrinkle and are very comfortable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by californiajack from freying pant cuffs I like these pants a lot (I have owned 3 pairs), but after about 5 washings, the pant cuffs begin to frey. I notice from the reviews that I'm not alone in this regard. After a couple more washings, they are so badly freyed that the pants are only good for gardening. I've tossed two pair, and the third is about to go.I wish LLB would at least offer a casual Chino with a higher quality fabic. I'd gladly pay for it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ramps from No More Pants For Grown Men... These pants continue an unfortunate trend in the men's pants construction industry toward what we call 'the short zipper syndrome'... We see that young men today are wearing their pants down on their hips, which automatically creates a more spacious 'rise' area in the pants (and an unpleasant silhouette). But, for those mature gents who continue to wear their pants at their natural waistline, the newly structured pants are *extremely* short in the rise - too uncomfortable for words... Even the so-called 'long' cut has a ridiculously short rise - only 1/2" longer than regular - why do you bother? Please, LLB, offer an alternative for your old, trusty customers and give us a cut with the old 'long zipper' rise. We deserve the comfort.
