Rated 5 out of 5 by dap2 from Exactly what I needed My old pair of L.L. Bean winter boots ripped, and thinking I hadn't had them that long, I tried some other brands. Nothing met my needsThey were either too clunky, too heavy, too loose, or too tight. After going through six different boots from quality brands, I finally came back to L.L. Bean. Right after these arrived, I came across the box from my old boots and realized I bought them ten years ago. Long-lasting quality! My primary use is for long snowy treks with the dog and shoveling the driveway. The boots are comfortable and have great traction. They are well insulated without making my feet sweat so my toes stay warm throughout a 3+ miles walk.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BeanVagabond from One major flaw out of the box These were replacements for an older pair of wildcats that totally split along the rubber/leather seam. When I put them on, the pull strap in the back broke...not at the stitching...the strap itself--on both boots. These are heading back in favor of a pair of storm chasers. I wore them for an hour or so, and they were as warm as I remember my old boots being, which I loved. If you don't use the pull straps, and you don't try to hike in them, you can't beat these for warmth, so I'd recommend with those caveats. But I can't rate these any higher, unfortunately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PhotosRLJ from Outstanding! I recently ordered these boots to wear on an upcoming photography trip to Yellowstone in January and could not be more pleased. Like - in my experience - all LL Bean merchandise, they fit absolutely true to size. I wear a 9D boot, and that's exactly what these are...a 9D with room for a thermal sock. Because I want them thoroughly broken in by the time of the trip, I've been wearing them every day, and actually, they need no break in. They were super comforatble right out of the box, but I continue to wear them almost every day just because I want to. This is a well made excellent product. Thanks again, LL Bean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by unclejoey from difference in second pair of wildcats In January of 2016 I purchased a pair of black wildcat boots. They were great and still are. The strap on the back of the boots to help pull them up was about one inch thick and made of either leather or vinyl and is very helpful to pulling boots on. This year in January I purchased a pair of brown wildcat boots. I have worn the boots maybe 8 times. The strap on my new wildcat boots has torn away from the back of the boots. The strap is made of cloth and is very weak and ineffective for its intended purpose. I have not gone back to the store yet because the boots were hard to find and were ordered to my house from another store not my local store. I didn't think I would miss the strap but it is definitely inconvenient without it. The boots are very comfortable and keep my feet warm and dry, but not made as well as my first pair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Shuttlebug from Wildcat Boot Strap Broke Just saw another review on these boots concerning the pull up strap. Same thing happened to my husband this morning. He received the boots on Dec. 18, they were to replace his old Wildcat boots that he had for a number of years until the rubber pulled away from the leather. Poor quality, not the standard you expect from LL Bean. Still deciding on if he will keep or send back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1955chevman from Day 1 Comfort I love these boots. I wear 10.5M in most shoes, ordered the 11M and it fits like a glove. I put them on and wore them all day the first day. How many new shoes can you wear all day the first outing? These are it! A little stiff, but that is what I expected with a rugged, insulated, foul weather boot. You will not be disappointed in your purchase. 1/2 sizes recommend go up to the next whole size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by PaulGator from Back Pull Up Strap Came Loose The back of the boot has a pull up strap that i used twice only. The second time, it came loose. I am disappointed and thought these products were made better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DBWhisperer from Excellent Winter Boot This is an exceptional winter boot for working outside or playing with the kids. I ordered it based on wearing the previous version of this LL Bean boot which weathered over a decade of Wisconsin winters before finally wearing out. The new version is just as warm and comfortable, the sizing appears the same, and if anything I like the styling of the new boot better than the older version.
