Good travel and walking shoe
I bought these shoes to have durable, water resistant walking shoes for a two-week trip to Italy. I wore them for a few weeks prior to the trip to break them in. We did a lot of walking in various locations in Italy, and these shoes worked great! They are comfortable with good traction on trails and cobblestone streets. They do tend to scuff a bit, but I had rubbed mink oil into the leather prior to the trip, so that helped me to rub out the scuff marks. The shoes did well on a rainy day. Back at home now, these are my go-to shoes for around town.

Good Soles; Right Size; Problematic Cut/Design
Shoes look good and soles are comfortable. True to size. Tongue of shoe is too long and tends to cut into top of foot, however. Fortunately, the tongue is reasonably padded. More problematic is the height and angle of the inside/back of the shoe, which strikes the back of the heel in an uncomfortable manner.

Comfortable Shoe
This solid, comfortable shoe fit perfectly. It was a little stiff at first but after wearing them for two days the stiffness went away, and they have become my fovorite shoe for waling around the stony land on my small farm.

Solid durable comfort..
I purchased these over a year ago and wrote a review..After time has gone here is my second review. At first i wore these on occasion. About the last six months I have worn them almost everyday.They have become almost my go to shoe for all purposes and are wearing real well.This is a durable,comfortable all season ,dress or casual shoe.Work or play A quality shoe..If and when I need another pair of shoes this one I will buy. again..Thanks LL Bean...

Wonderful, versatile shoe
I bought these shoes 2 years ago for a trip to Europe in winter when we knew we would be walking a lot. They worked amazingly well. We walked in snow, hiked, gravel trails, climbed Castle steps and rarely stopped moving. These shoes were comfortable, durable and stable.
After that, I really put them to the test. We hiked trails at home and I wore them for general labor tasks where I might wear a boot. These shoes survived mud and water just as well as they survived our walking tour.
I have probably put close to a million steps on these shoes and they are still going strong. It's hard for me to give a stronger recommendation to any product I've used in my life.
