Ankle Support without the Mud
These boots provide the ankle support my doctor recommends and the comfort I want. They are well made and easy to lace up. While I appreciate that I can walk quietly (no clunk-clunk-clunk sound as with other boots) the softer sole does tend to wear out quicker than I would like. I especially like that the sole is shoe-like rather than deep tire-tread grooves that make me track dirt into my home.

Sole wore out in less than 1 year
Bought this for my husband. He wore them 2-3 times per week, and after 6 months the tread was already worn down to where he doesn’t get good traction on a moderately inclined dirt trail. Disappointed that these are no longer any good for hiking after LESS THAN A YEAR.

Excellent
Excellent boot, lighter than air, like walking on a sponge.

Great casual boot or light hiker.
Very comfortable as a casual boot or light duty hiker. No break-in time needed, and the second set of laces was a great idea.

nice looking boot but poor quality
Its a nice comfortable boot. But in 18 months the sole separated . I called and was told the warranty was for 1 year only. Seems like the quality of the LL Bean goods is no longer a given.

Great Boat Shoe Boots
Very comfortable and can be used as a boat shoe. Sole is soft and has no grooves to track debris into house or boat. But this is not a good choice where mud, snow and sharp rocks are abundant and maximum traction and under foot protection is expected .

Very Comfortable
Very comfortable for walking and hiking. No break in period necessary. The extra long shoe laces are not necessary and have to be double tied to prevent them from coming undone.

Perfect for travel adventuring.
Love this boot. I bought it for traveling where I needed good cushioning and ankle support for hiking ruins and cobble stones but also where I had good traction on smooth, wet surfaces such as worn marble. My heavy hikers (LL Bean Crestas) with rugged soles were too slippery indoors.
