Rated 3 out of 5 by AlbertOfTheNorth from Love the shirt, too bad about some quality issues Have loved these polos since first getting them. Unfortunately the "banded" style tends to come about where the cuff meets the sleeve. I have these in many different colors but slowly having to replace them all with the "hemmed" style because the cuffs just do not stand up. Of course, it takes time for this to happen but since I have a closet full of polos, I figure they should last for a few years. I also think it is a quality issue just with the cuffs as the rest of the shirt still looks great when the cuffs start to separate. Wish they could up the quality of these as I would go back to them in a heartbeat if they did.

Rated 2 out of 5 by InthevalleyRI from Bring Back the Old Double LL Premium Polos My husband loved these shirts, however, over the past year or so, we've both noticed a decrease in quality in the shirt. The shoulders and arms are too fitted despite this shirt being a traditional fit. All of the shirts that he has purchased over the past year, require us to sew some where in the arm area due to holes forming around the arm banding. The odd thing is he still has polo shirts from 5 years ago by L.L. Bean that do not require the same repairs. Unfortunately, he is looking at other stores for replacement polos. L.L. Bean, please go back to your old quality with these polos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by STR007 from Not the same I was told today that you changed fit to a trimmer cut on traditional because of customer feedback. You should pay more attention to the customers who did not comment because they liked the old product. I feel you made a bad decision. Your recent reviews are more negative. The world is not getting trimmer. If you want this fit then you should make both. I am only one customer who wears them everyday for work. I will need to try some other brands so that I can be more comfortable. Thank you, Steve

Rated 1 out of 5 by PickyRicky from Fell Apart After 6 Months All I can say is, wow. LL Bean quality is really going down hill fast. My entire wardrobe is LLBean. Most of their stuff is A+ quality. But the weave on this polo reminds me of some shirts I bought in Asia for 3 bucks. I'm in the process of exchanging it, but the bottom line is that I shouldn't have to. Come on LL Bean, don't just think about the bottom line. I've been wearing LLBean for over 40 years. Get back to the basics R&D and start thinking about your customers. They come first, not profits.

Rated 2 out of 5 by mikeinri from Disappointed in New Style I've purchased at least a hundred LL Bean premium polos over the years. Literally, all I wear spring and summer. The heavy weight cotton made the fit perfect and long lasting. The change in fit and weight has ruined the polo for me. Once a special polo has now become just like every other polo. I realize some may like the "improved" fit, but this loyal customer will have to look elsewhere, unless LL Bean returns the polo to its traditional weight and style. Unfortunate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BFCO12345 from Used to love these shirts I used to wear these shirts a lot and owned quite a few of them. Last year it seems that the the size changed - well sort of. I got a set of new shirts even though I heard that they were now smaller than in the past. I measured across the belly and they seemed the same. I wore one though and it WAS smaller. Further investigation revealed that all the new polo's I had were smaller in the chest and shoulders - enough smaller that they did not fit me. I had a bunch of Tall Large shirts and sadly took them all back. I just got a couple Tall XLarge and they are a little too big. I'm currently deciding whether to keep them or go somewhere else. I'm giving them 2 stars only because the material is thicker and better made than the "other guys" shirts so LLBean does have an advantage. Really disappointed!

Rated 2 out of 5 by pinjoh541 from Good, comfortable shirt... but I've been buying these shirts for close to 30 years. Up until a few years ago, I would highly recommend them. Lately, while still a nice, comfortable shirt, they have developed a tendency to get a hole at the bottom of the button area. The rest of the shirt has no appreciable wear, but that one spot gets a hole. I've bought twelve polo shirts from L.L.Bean in the past four years and nearly every one has had the same issue. I've attached a picture showing three shirts, two of which I bought in October 2017, less than one year old, all with an identical hole in each of them. That kind of wear is unacceptable for the age of the shirt. I've always preferred L.L. Bean, but this is making me rethink where I buy my polo shirts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stanislaus from Great shirt I like everything about this shirt. Here are my complaints: LLBean used to have lots of polo shirt colors I liked. Now I can barely find any. For example, there are dozens of shades of blue I like. LLBean carries one shade that I don't like. The wine color I picked is "seasonal" meaning it's only available a month or two all year. If I don't happen to check the website at the right time I can't get it for a whole year. Come on, is dark red really only appropriate once a year? Please stop trying to be trendy and just carry colors that are tried and true besides navy and white.
