Why We Love It
Rugged, water-resistant and deflects most thorns—that sounds like a pair of pants that can handle whatever you throw at them—and then some. We know dogs and birds keep you on the move, which is why we built articulated knees for free range of motion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1923 from warm weather pants Looked at many pairs of pants. Pants on the internet and in stores. I needed warm weather hunting pants with minimal brush guard. These have articulated knees, suspender buttons. rubber shirt grabber inside the waist, and expanding waist for when one eats too much barbeque on the opening day of dove hunting down south. They are very roomy. Light weight poplin is just right. Cost is not a factor. I can pay more but I cannot get this much in a pair of pants. My dog will not tolerate me being shabbily dressed or carrying an ugly gun. Thank you for putting a lot of thought into these pants. If the weather is warm and you have to prime yourself to spit, be glad you are hunting in these pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grousser from Great Upland Product LL Bean is to be commended for developing a good product and sticking with it, perhaps with a few improvements from year to year. These are my go-to grouse pants for any day over 24 degrees, particularly in steep terrain. I probably have close to 75 hunts in my current pair and other than a couple of small holes above the brush guards they're good for another season. If they get wet they dry quickly, and in hot weather they seem to breathe just fine. For overall comfort on long treks in clearcuts, any occasional greenbrier/blackberry snag is worth the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NoPilikia from Best Outdoor Pants EVER! I have used "Upland Game" pants for many years for hiking and gardening in Oregon's notorious wet climate....I have worn Cabela, Columbia, Under Armour and of course LL Beans products. These are far and away the most comfortable...the "precision fit" works like a dream allowing me to just have a T-shirt tucked in or multiple layers and despite all the up and down and reaching while gardening these stay comfortable! I never worry about dropping to my knees with these on. Only 2 problems.....getting conifer pitch off the fabric and they do not make this style of waist in my small size for regular pants...only upland game pants

Rated 5 out of 5 by wesgj from Excellent Hot Weather Pants I bought these for eary season hunting on the prairies of North Dakota. It get's hot here so a pair of lightweight pants are in order. The fit is perfect for me. and was true to size in both the waist and inseam. I really like the expandable waist feature. The cover I hunt is prairie, so not a lot of thick cover, thorns etc. These pants do repell burrs and "stickems". The over feature is the pants ide up and don't fall as some others do. Nice when crossing a fence. Overall a quality pair of pants. I recommended them highly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by bobpbx from Precision Fit only applies to waist Although the waist adjustment is a handy feature, and the material is good quality, there is too much material in the leg area. I could fit almost two of my legs in each leg of this pair of pants. This is not good for walking through heavy brush, which will snatch at and pull at all that extra material. Suggest this be investigated and corrected, because they are otherwise a good design and high quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cgrant from Best lightweight hunting pants for hot weather Most upland or hunting pants in general are made for cold weather. These are lightweight, but still do a great job of repelling water and briars. I've never found anything cooler, other than shorts. I've used them in the hot weather of early season dove hunting in south texas, as well as warm quail hunts in georgia. This is my second pair, I lost the first moving but it lasted for years and I would still be using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KeyWestEd from Excellent Upland Hunting Pants I purchased these pants last year before the upland bird hunting season. I have worn them 15+ times on South Dakota pheasant hunts. Love the expandable waist. The late fall weather in SD require several different clothing layering options. From light tee shirts to heavy layers for a wide temperature range the pants allowed for comfortable waist expansion. Having caught the pants on barb wire fences several times they came through pretty good. Yes they tore (what pants don't on barb wire fences) however; the tears were small and didn't expand when I washed the pants. When the weather got cold (20 degrees) I put on long underwear and was warm. I highly recommend these pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Huntertom from Excellant South Georgia-Florida Bird Hunting Pant This is the best pair of Lightweight Hunting Pants I have ever purchased. In fact i liked the first pair so well I purchased 3 more. I hunt Bird Hunt in South Georgia and Florida in sometimes warm weather and theses pants are perfect. When it gets a little cold put on a pair of Beans long leg undergarment and perfecto!!!! They work well in briers and heavy cover as well. The expanding waist line is also a big plus.
