Rated 3 out of 5 by TheElf from Poor Pocket Design I really like this jacket, the weight is perfect, the fabric is comfortable and I really like the color - green. My first choice - blue, was not available. The only issue I have are with the pockets. They are poorly designed. Any items in the pocket will slip out when you stand from a seated position. I have left behind my cell phone, eyeglass case and keys. The zippered interior pocket on the right side seems like an afterthought and is not very practical or roomy enough for the items I listed above. Some form of lining may provide enough friction to keep items secure. If you were to add a zipper to the exterior pockets, I would also add a flap, to conceal them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mike from Functional and great looking I purchased the navy blue version online. The quality seems excellent and is very stylish. I went with a large and think that is the perfect size for my height and athletic build. If you are my height and thin (160 or below), go to a size medium would be my suggestion, otherwise its best to go to a store if one is near you to be sure. Don't expect this to keep you warm in cold weather, however. It is what it is...a rain/windbreaker to keep some of the elements off you in the Spring/Summer/early Fall. If you want something warm, look elsewhere or layer underneath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JamesNW from Not Classic, but Very Good I used to own an early '90's issue of the "Mountain Classic" jacket and hoped to replicate that great model with Bean's new "Mountain Classic Full-Zip Jacket". The new jacket isn't as insulated and no longer has zipped pockets, but is still very comfortable with room for a fleece layer. If you plan to use this jacket in sub-50 degree weather, you'll want some type of layer; the jacket has light insulation but from my experience is only good at temps above 50 F. The quality is as good as its predecessor and it has become my go-to Autumn jacket!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Parkd from What's with the hood First of all the jacket fits well. It repels rain very well, but there is no length adjustment on the hood and that is problematic as it appears to have been designed for someone with a huge head or conehead. Seriously do not know what is with the hood. I wear a large hat and if I do not wear a baseball cap, I am continuously pulling the hood back. If I pull the drawstrings tight, it covers my face all the way down to my nose. LL BEAN needed to either use a drawstring adjustment like they do on other hooded jackets they sell or Velcro so the hood length can be adjusted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by corrai from Great Wet Weather Jacket I Had an older light jacket I kept in my SUV, and wanted something newer and lighter. After reading the other reviews on this jacket, plus reading the info that was provided about it, I went ahead and bought it. Was very impressed with how lightweight it is when it arrived. It is a lot lighter than my old one. The first time it rained and I put it on, I was impressed again on how light it felt while wearing it. Temp outside when it was raining was upper 70's, and I was not hot at all wearing this jacket. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by slaker from great layer Throwback layer to the 80's. Just a windbreaker, but that's just what I wanted. Good hood. Good zipper. Kangaroo pockets have no zippers, but that saves you some money. Get used to it and it's fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by seekerpat from No nonsense Very good basic jacket. No bells and whistles, just well made with proper pockets and a large hood. Not waterproof but keeps a surprising amount of rain off. Big enough to cover a sweater or fleece in cooler weather. The hood makes you feel like a Jedi though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Pierogi from Nice Quality, Poor Fit I hate having to give this a bad review. It is attractive, smartly designed, and the fabric looks and feels great. It's made with high quality. Unfortunately, the fit is way too small. Tight and sleeves too short. I should add that I have several Bean jackets and coats and in cool season not a day goes by that I am not wearing one of them. So I have a pretty good idea of how they should fit. If they fix the fit problem with this, I would try again on it. It is very nice.
