Why We Love Them
Made from heavyweight cotton that exceeds industry standards for toughness, the Double L Jeans are the most durable pair of denim we have on our shelf. First, we craft them with a special weave that resists abrasion, shrinking and fading, then double-needle stitch them for even more strength. We finish each pair with a garment wash for worn-in softness and comfort right from the start.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Best Available My husband likes these for cold days when he's out for extended periods of time. He prefers the fleece to the flannel; says they're warmer. Quality has been excellent, would not have had to buy a new pair but for the fact that he lost a considerable amount of weight. So happy they had 33's. Hard to find! Our only complaint is about the classic fit - the rise is very long and the butt is too roomy. I can't imagine what relaxed fit is like. I wish they'd come out with a slim fit. Even when he was heavier, these were issues. Despite this though, these are the best considering other options. Other brands are even worse- and I looked at quite a few.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nandrew from Best purchase ever! I love these and only wonder--why did I wait so long to buy them!! I'm a woman but like the fit of the men's Double L jeans and have been wearing them for years. I got the flannel-lined jeans a while back and do like them in cool weather. But I get cold easily and these fleece-lined jeans have been just wonderful in New England winter weather (or even inside the house when I'm too lazy to fire up the wood stove). I did buy a 1" larger waist size than usual because someone else had recommended that and I'm glad I did--just a bit more comfy and I'm obviously not going for the high fashion look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OutdrslvrFltlndChshd from Warm! Comfortable; well-proportioned I LOVE this product. I have many pairs of these fleece-lined jeans, and wouldn't be without them to brave the northern Wisconsin winters! They do a great job of breaking the windchill factor on the lower body. Sizing is true to dimensions, and consistent. That are pong-wearing, and hold up well over years of service. One suggestion: add an additional belt loop to the waist size 33, to replicate the seven belt loops mounted on the size 34-inch (and larger) waist product(s). The 33-inch waist product has 5 belt loops, with one centered in the back of the waist, two at either side of the waist, and two on the front side of the garment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by samiamhis from Nice jeans but.... These jeans were ordered in the classic cut for my hubby. They are nice jeans and made very well. The drawback is that for whatever reason, today the trimmest cut available is actually not "trim" at all. I will have to remake them in order for them not to look like clown pants on his skinny little butt and legs. He has a cowboy body, lean and tough. Pants today all are made in that relaxed baggy butt and leg style even when the ad says they are trim cut, they are not. I am just glad I can sew! So the complaint is not so much against what LL Bean is providing but what the fashion industry is dictating that people wear. For men that are truly slim there are no jean cuts out there to compliment their bodies, not even at the cowboy stores. Waaaaah!

Rated 3 out of 5 by josephbw from The good and the not so good I haven't had the chance to wear these pants in cold weather yet, so I can't attest to the fact that they are warm. I did however try them on and I could tell they made my legs warmer. When I tried them on, I had been dressed, still had my socks on, and when I tried to pull up the pants, I couldn't. What happened was the fleece lining is only anchored at the top and bottom, so when putting my foot through, the material bunched up trapping my foot. This also happened without socks on. The fleece would work a lot better if it was also sewn along the vertical seams to anchor the fleece the full length. As far as recommending them, I would, but with a caution. Sit down when putting them on, or you're liable to wind up on the floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by opensaysme from Warm and comfortable Warmth - I bought the fleece lined pants because the blog said they were warmer. I haven't tried the flannel lining, but these are wonderfully warm and comfortable. Size & fit - I initially ordered the 32 waist but found them too snug. So I'd advise the purchaser to go one size up if you're on the cusp of a waist size. I presume this is because of the extra room required for the lining. Waist level - The waist is higher than current 'standard' jean waist height (Levi 505/514 jeans), sort of half way between 'low' cut and 'mom' jeans. Having said that they are very warm and comfortable and, if you're wearing them you're probably not too concerned about being a fashionista!

Rated 5 out of 5 by bbopn2 from FABULOUS Fleece Lined Jeans I bought these fleece lined jeans for my husband instead of flannel lined jeans. When I told him I had ordered them, he wasn't interested, as, with many men, he's not very open to trying new things. Once he wore these fleece lined jeans, he announced that he liked them even better than the flannel lined jeans. He said they were very comfortable and very warm. Consequently, I ordered him a second pair, which he loved. I would definitely recommend these jeans, especially for anyone needing pants to keep warm in the cold weather.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gardener123456 from Not the same as you remember. The cut, and the materiel, have changed significantly. There is now a LOT of materiel behind the legs (a reflection on the new heft of America?), which makes the pants very baggy. A talk w/ a salesperson indicated these 'classic' fit pants are the least bagged-out they make in a lined trouser. The materiel is no longer denim. It's that brushed stuff that is not nearly as tough as the old ones That I purchased as little as a year ago. It's a real shame. The old models were just what the doctor ordered. The customer service, of course, is still top-notch.
