Rated 2 out of 5 by NEWJERSIAN from 1912 JEAN FAIL I've been purchasing the 1912 jeans for quite some time. Until recently, these were the only jeans I would buy. Unfortunately something has changed in the manufacturing. The sizes are very inconsistent from pair to pair. What used to be my favorite jean is now a disappointment. I haven't changed that much in my body shape and that is why I'm writing the review. Something I could count on right out of the package is no longer the same. I also realize that jeans stretch and through washing things give but the waste band right out of the package was almost 1 1/2 size too small. The other aspects of the jeans fit fine. I hope LL Bean can figure this out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BabylonIsFallen from Really like the jeans but the fit has changed I had bought a pair of these 1912 jeans (Natural fit) in January 2015 and have wore them ever since, and like them a lot. They are made of a good material, are comfortable, and exactly what I wanted. I bought a second pair in October 2016 of the same 1912 jeans, again Natural fit, but a different color. Although the waist (34") and length (29") are identical to the January 2015 purchase, the jeans are not. The waist is noticeably tighter. I have noticed other companies doing this as well, possibly to use less material and save costs. It's too bad. I will try the next size up but they might be too big.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GNS1 from Nice jeans These are a really nice quality jeans. Good material, and fit well. I've only worn them a few times, and I really like them.. These have a little more room in the seat of the pants, and upper legs to give you a more loose fit, which I appreciate. The natural fit is not as tapered in the leg as the classic fit. I also purchased a classic fit, as well. If you prefer a more tapered pant leg, then look to the classic fit. Both are great jeans.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JeffVT from Nice jeans! This was my first pair of LL Bean 1912 jeans. I typically wear Nautica jeans but lately the quality has gotten worse. I really like these jeans as the fit was great and to my usual size 34X32. My only complaint is the front pockets are so darn tight. The pants themselves aren't tight but the openings for the front pockets are very tight. I have ordered another pair and they are the same. Overall I really like the jeans!

Rated 2 out of 5 by SiqiZheng from Pocket sizes really lowered my score For my first pair of jeans at LL Bean as a Canadian Customer, I really wanted to love these pair of pants. While everything else about this pair is great, the pocket sizes really killed it for me. The jeans is comfortable, roomy, and the material at least seems very durable for the past 2 days that I've worn it. However, every time when I retrieve my wallet or phone, I'm reminded just how much I have to contort my hips and pressure my hands into the small pocket openings to do so. I slip my hands in, wallet, keys, or phone comes out easily. The depth of the pocket can also be a little deeper so when I sit down the wallet or phone shouldn't so up against me that even after getting my hands in, I shouldn't put more effort in pulling them out. I don't have this problem at all with my Carhartt pants. I slip my hands in, wallet, keys, or phone comes out easily whether I'm sitting or standing. No, I do not consider myself fat. The size I ordered is 33W and it fits me well that I don't need a belt to hold it up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dave27106 from Design change I've worn these same jeans for a number of years. The most recent pair were designed/built somewhat differently. The legs, while still straight from the knee down, were narrower than older pairs by approximately one to one and a half inches. Doesn't sound like much, but made a big difference in how comfortable they are for me. Still seem to be well constructed but I was disappointed in the change. In the past, I have always been able to count on Bean's clothes to fit the same way year after year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Beancatalogfan from Tried too long to like them I received these jeans as a gift from my wife and have worn them several times. I like Natural Fit lightweight jeans from LL Bean so I figured these would fit the same. I was wrong. The jeans are a little baggy after being washed and dried but are passable. However, once you have worn them for a couple of hours they loosen and billow out all over. They fit nothing like my other Natural Fit jeans and are very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TransplantedMidwesterner from Great jeans! I have been wearing this style jeans to my relatively casual workplace for several years. I own several pairs in two shades of gray and the rinsed blue, a solid dark blue. I am sad to see that they are now only carried in various prefaded blues, not appropriate for work at all. I like the mid-weight denim as well as the cut through the waist, hips, and thighs which is relaxed enough to be comfortable without bagging. An all around comfortable and good looking pair of jeans that fit my straight figure well and have the deep pockets that women’s pants no longer have. Unfortunately, unless solid colors are once again added to the options, I won’t buy any more since I own plenty of jeans that are faded and worn looking without needing to buy them that way.
