Rated 5 out of 5 by RespectableNature from Perfect! I purchased these HeatKeeper lowers and uppers and could not be more happy with them. They are extremely soft to touch and very comfortable for every day wear. I'm not sure how the technology works but they are advertised to "generate and retain heat" and that is exactly what i have found them to do. Actually just came back from a two hour light hike with the dog on easy to moderate terrain in 26 degrees. I did not feel cold in the least. use these to layer in the chilly weather and you will not be sorry. they are versatile and i am impressed with the quality thus far. Fit and finish are great. seem like they will last well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by trekhead from Comfortable & Warm but Questionable Quality Got these as a gift Christmas 2016 (along with the matching top), as it was a warm winter they didn't more than a few uses. Loved them for their soft and comfortable warmth, great under jeans or lounging around the house. Fast forward to this much colder winter, I've now worn them maybe 10 times. Last night taking them off, I see the material at one ankle is separating from the seam and there is a one inch hole in the fabric. Fabric around other ankle is similarly thinning and looks to follow suit shortly. Much too expensive to not even last a full season. Disappointed in LL Bean quality with these despite their comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BostonBeaner from Perfect everyday long underwear Soft, comfortable, and easy to layer underneath your regular pants. Perfect everyday underwear once the weather gets cold. Good for wearing around a cool house (60s) to help keep off the chill. Good for wearing when you need to spend time outdoors when it's chilly and you'll be wearing your everyday street clothes. Also great for sleeping either on their own if your bed is cozy warm or under a pair of flannel pajamas if it's not. You never get hot and sweaty in these -- they always feel just right. I have 2 pairs and have them in constant rotation during the wintertime. I'm looking to buy some more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Glenn314 from Disappointed I had high hopes for these pants. Washed them as soon as I received them. Extremely tight especially around the ankles. I had to take them off. Also magnets of static electricity. They draw every piece of lint in a mile radius. The fit was questionable in the rear end and just a bad match for me. I suppose they would fit someone else but my lower legs and ankles were too confined almost to the point of cutting off the circulation in my legs with elastic cuffs. Won't send back because I washed them but will donate them to a worthy cause seeing I didn't wear them for more than 5 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by njhappycustomer from The best yet! I wanted some long johns for the winter and decided to try the LL Bean Heat Keepers. And much to my surprise when I opened the package they looked like they were to thin to be of much help. Boy, was I wrong. They're great! They aren't heavy and bulky like some I've tried in the past but they REALLY DO keep me warm when I'm outside shoveling snow AND they aren't overly warm when I'm inside the house! They were so good I bought a second pair. In my opinion they can't be beat! Buy them and enjoy the outdoors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Albert from Perfect PJ's I have been in mourning since Wickers closed down. They made a great synthetic silk (100% polyester) underwear (both long and regular) that I really liked, but I knew I had to come up with an alternative, and I stumbled upon these Heat Keeper synthetics from Bean. They arrived today and are really impressive replacements for my old PJ's. They look and feel like they will hold up well and also will avoid snagging. I ordered medium (I am 5'9" and 160 lbs), and these fit perfectly. The elastic waist on the bottoms is very broad, firm, but comfortable, not binding. They will serve well as PJ's but also are snug enough and thin enough (but not quite as thin as silk) for long underwear under active conditions. Really great product! I will order more!

Rated 1 out of 5 by JanetE from Really Poorly Made At first my husband thought he would love these because they were soft and comfortable. However, after only wearing them a couple of times the seam in the leg split and he's not a big guy. They weren't stretched at all, they just fell apart. And they may be called heat keepers, but they are not great at keeping in warmth. He works outside and they didn't help much. I think these may be fine for spring or fall, but not winter when you actually need to stay warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1helper from they work its a cold winter here in nyc but with these under beans flannel lined jeans are incredibly warm! I walk a lot in my job both inside and out I also stand waiting for a train on an elevated open air station for sometimes more time then i'd like too. as an outdoor guy in nyc I've tried various forms of layering and this combo surpasses everything ! and not too hot inside tody its 40-50 winds about + 11 degrees and my legs feel no effect at all.pretty extreme for here but I cant say enough about both layers i bought small reg at 5'7" I found then long but don't notice the extra length at all once dressed (probably help giving me more freedom of movement also they didn't shrink
