Men's Cresta Wool Midweight 250 Base Layer, Quarter-Zip is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I have been using this for cold weather runs. It's the best shirt I have ever used for cold weather exercise. In my opinion, there is nothing better than wool, and this wool is very comfortable and very effective at managing moisture and maintaining warmth. Once I put it on, I just want to keep wearing it, even long after my runs. I need to buy one just for casual wear. I highly recommend this shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft & Stylish I bought a blue and grey version of this several years ago and it has held up well both in color and fabric/construction. I have been searching for other colors, but this product seemed like it was no longer available. I noticed that LL Bean was selling a Charcoal version this Christmas and I jumped at the opportunity to buy it while taking advantage of the Christmas discounts. I love it. I will often wear these with a tee underneath along with jeans or casual slacks. It looks rather dressy and shows off my athletic build. It keeps me warm, but not too hot. The fabric feels cool and soft on my skin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Fit for Tall Guy I bought the Lg. Tall. I'm 195 and 6'5" and this things fits terribly. The torso is way too loose and the sleeves are too short. It's not nearly as form fitting as the ultralight version I bought a few years ago. The 150 ultralight zip necks are literally my favorite pieces of clothing and I wish they'd make them again. I'd buy 10.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improved for '18 If you're looking at this item you're no doubt seeing last year's reviews, which were (rightly) harsh. The one I bought had a bad zipper. Though the fabric was thin, it was for wear on the west coast so that was more feature than bug. For 2018, everything is fixed. Better fabric, better stitching, better zipper. For those who wear OCP/Multicam for a living, the "Dark Olive" is a perfect match for the "regulation" undergarment color--though the (easily concealable) metal zipper pull with LL Bean logo could get a second look in strict settings. VERY happy with this purchase, took one star for the slightly short body (tucked/untucked, I suppose), though the sleeves are the right length.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product This was my first merino wool product while getting more into hiking during colder temperatures and absolutely love it. It fits great, looks nice and is very comfortable. Although is labeled as base-weight layer, I actually use this as top over thinner/lighter weight wicking base layers which has worked good so far (all-day hikes in 20-40F range). It also looks decent enough just to wear over t-shirt as more casual wear. The only minor issue is that it definitely did shrink a little after the 1st wash despite hang drying it, but not so much that it falls shorter than usual LT size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice quality but slightly itchy This is a nice base layer - well made, extra long and competitively priced. However, it is a little bit itchy (like the older wool garments, although not anywhere near so). I do not know yet if it will soften up some after couple washings. I own about three other similar merino wool base layers (different manufacturers) and I find them little more comfortable (they all feel more like cotton) next to bare skin. On the other hand this is a better quality and better made garment. I would recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Quality - Wish The Front Were Longer Pleased with the overall quality of the garment. I ordered the L regular because that size in other garments usually works for me. Granted, I am “more portly” than I once was, but this one won’t work. The front hem length is about 2 inches shorter than the back hem; not good for my body type and I tend to like longer shirts anyway. Just for reference, most of my t-shirts extend below the front hem, the back hem length is fine. But don’t get me wrong, the garment Is not excessively short. I selected “true to size” because it fit well in all other respects. It’s a good quality item, and if you’re fit, it’ll probably fit well; if you’re a bit pear-shaped or just like longer front length, be advised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cresta Wool, Don't Go Changing Cresta Wool is my favorite base layer ever. I have the quarter-zip midweight shirt and the ultralight pants. Please don't change them one bit. I hope in 20 years I can buy this exact same product. I wear them every day of the ski season when it's below 30, lounge around the house in them on chilly, damp days, and wear them under nylon hiking pants and shirt under my fishing waders in the early spring and late fall.
