Rated 3 out of 5 by from Need more time to break them in Too soon to tell....very stiff out of the box and the right insole seems to have a lump that is uncomfortable. Going to take a while to break them in and have been wearing more comfortable boots in the meantime. The soles are very still and difficult to walk in, which is delaying the break in. If you expect soft, comfortable boots out of the box, these aren't for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They look good but... I bought these boots in Early November 2025 from the local outlet store (Hadley, Ma). They looked like the very boots I had been wanting. Having a Goodyear welt design Vibram sole along with oiled waterproof leather, they seemed just like the good boots I used to be able to buy. They were a little stiff at first but broke in within a week and a half and became very comfortable. Slowly though I started noticing a couple of bothering issues. After only one month the laces (which when new were very waxed and stiff) were starting to shred. And the soles were already wearing down considerably. The heals are pitched at the edges and the sole itself is down to half of its original depth. I I do a daily 2 mile walk with my dog in the morning, so deducting days of extreme cold or ice (when we stay home) the is maybe 140 - 160 miles on them. Now, the laces? I'll consider those just a poor financial decision when it cam to manufacturing cost. But the soles? Come on now Bean, there just isn't any excuse for such cheaping out. You're suppose to be America's Outdoor Outfitters. Don't leave us stranded halfway down the trail. Bring back the quality I and All of us remember.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No great These shoes had to be miss sized. We ordered 13 but they were clearly about 2 sizes bigger. My son in law wears 13 in every shoe yet these were two sizes to big. I am getting a refund and returning the shoes. The shoes themselves are very nice and he loved the style but we are afraid to order his size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy fix These boots fit the first try. I did have to put some padding around the ankle on the left boot. That was an easy fix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly comfortable These boots are not only comfortable, especially the sole & foot bed, but also very stylish. And it doesn't take long to break them in. I wore these boots on a long weekend to Toronto and they were great to hike around the city. My only 'small' complain is that they are not very breathable. My feet, with boot socks on, tend to get sweaty, which could lead to blisters. But that's an extreme example. Other than that, awesome boots.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Uncomfortable sole The boot looks very nice, but there is something in the sole that makes it feel like your heel is on a tennis ball. I tried swapping out the insoles, but the feeling persisted. Returned

Rated 3 out of 5 by from After a Couple Years, a Bit of a Disappointment A couple weeks after I first purchased, I posted a glowing 5-star review. And I stand by everything I said - they look good and they are super comfortable. So much so that you can even wear them sockless for a quick walk of the dog. The problem is that they are kind of disposable. The supposed Vibram soles wear down quickly. Much more quickly than any Vibram sole I've seen. The lining developed tears and holes within one year. I've now used them for a couple years but at this point, they are literally falling apart. Sadly, they are another example of the declining quality of Bean products relative to their previous versions. I'd still recommend them - but with the reservation that they are for a season or two, not for life. And they are kind of expensive for the quality. Frankly you can get Wolverine boots of similar quality for half the price and, for less than 50% more, boots that will literally last for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot Like my lumberjack boots but with a lower heel stack and much more light weight, this boot is stellar and my new daily go to boot. Normally my daily boots are cowboy boots but after breaking my pinky toe they didn't feel great. This is my second pair of boots by Bean, but first with this lug sole. Nice and wide in the toe box, sturdy, but not a super tall lace up boot. These win on every level. I love my Georgia logger boots for winter, but they're so heavy. These are light enough for every day and I'm looking forward to seeing how they do in a Colorado winter.
