Rated 3 out of 5 by GoBruinsMA from Great boot with two signficant flaws I love everything about this boot with two exceptions: 1. The top of the boot is cut way too wide. I cannot effectively tighten the boot. The laces cinch closed before the boot is tight. The fit in the forefoot is great, but the ankle and cuff are too big. They are still wearable like this, but they just feel a little like rubber rainboots. 2. The seam where the flannel meets the thinsulate is pronounced. Wearing the boot with heavy socks, the seam isn't noticeable. With mid or lightweight socks, I feel the seam rubbing on my achilles. Every other feature of these boots - foot comfort, traction, style, quality - are outstanding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TimS from Better than regular Bean Boots, but no Wide sizes! I own a regular pair of Bean Boots. The construction quality of the limited editions is stepped up big time. The tongue of the LE has less of a gusset than the normal boots but the edge of it has an extra piece of leather on the edge. Around the boot opening at the top, there's also an extra piece of leather to reinforce the edge. Regular Bean Boots don't have either of these nicer finishes on the edges. The stitching is also much cleaner than any regular Bean Boot I've seen. I'm actually kind of annoyed that the normal Bean Boots don't get this kind of love. It's a shame, though, that these are only offered in D width. Please offer these in Wide sizes. I want to be able to wear Limited Editions in the same size as my 9EE Bean Boots. Minus one star for lack of wide sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DavidC from Excellent Boot I can't say anything more than what has already been said about these boots. These are really no different than the other Bean Boots as far as quality and workmanship, so reading any of those reviews will give you an idea of that. These, however, are a little different on the inside as these have both Thinsulate and flannel. This combination makes them a bit warmer than the others. The use of those insulating items is where you *might* need to use this advice. The sizing for most Bean Boots say to size down a full size to a size and a half. I usually wear an 8.5 in athletic shoes, so I ordered an 8 in these. Fit perfect! I credit this to the slightly more room taken up by the Thinsulate and flannel. If I had purchased a 7, as the fitment guide suggested, they surely would have been too small. Your mileage may vary, though. I do wear them with thick-ish socks (mid-weight), but could easily get away with thinner ones, if needed or desired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DMC75 from Excellent Boot First, follow the sizing guide!! I wear a size 10/10.5 in most shoes. I went with a size 9 in this boot and it fits perfect with a ski sock. I would not recommend wearing wool socks with this style boot as it already has a lining and it wont fit comfortably. They are plenty warm enough with a medium/light sock. The leather is beautiful and not as stiff as some other version of Beans Boots when you first buy them. I own quite a few different pairs but these have been my favorite so far by far!!! They do feel a little snug at first but the leather stretches and fits to your foot nicely! Great boot.....I can see why its often not available and sold out!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Creekside from Re-evaluation I have been wearing these boots for over 2 weeks. My 1st impression was they were too long too narrow and the tops could not be laced snug around the leg. Fast forward and the snow has melted back enough to hike up some steep country. Heavier socks were added and this boot blossomed into more than I could have imagined. The chain tread provide unbelievable sure footed ness on otherwise slippery slopes. 12 degree temps went unnoticed. Quality construction. Easy on and easy off. These turned out to be a great boot boot. Thanks LL Bean once again

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanCollegeShopper from Undeniable quality - Unrivaled Leather It’s clear I am an L.L.Bean enthusiast, seeing this is my 4th pair of Bean Boots. Having said that, these have immediately become my favorite pair for two reasons, how comfortable they are, and the quality of the leather. I know high quality leather when I see it, and frankly, its unrivaled with this pair of boots especially. I was always impressed with the quality in the uppers of my other Bean Boots, but something about this model makes the leather seem, for lack of a better word, honest. The fact that it’s both flannel lined and insulated is also a nice plus. I’ve been waiting for a boot that included both. I sized down from my normal shoe size of 11 to 10 for this boot, and it fit perfectly. It’s not tumbled leather like the other model, but it will take the form of your foot the more you walk in it, especially if you apply L.L.Bean Boot Guard which will both protect the leather and soften it. All in all, I couldn’t recommend this pair of Bean Boots enough. I think its worthy of being added as a permanent addition to the Bean Boot family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SatisfiedCustomer from Perfect winter boots I bought these in a size 8 and 9, just to make sure I got the right fit. I typically wear a 9.5 in dress shoes, 10 in Converse Chuck Taylor shoes, and 11 in Under Armour shoes, so I'm all over the board when it comes to sizing. I initially visited my local L.L. Bean store and the size 8 in their traditional boot fit me best, but the size 8 in these flannel lined boots were way too tight when I ordered them online. The size 9 was just right. So these boots may fit more snug than the original Bean boot due to the different lining. Overall I'm very happy I bought these. I haven't used them yet in winter weather, but they're very comfortable and look very nice, especially after applying the boot guard. I like how there isn't a big contrast in color between the rubber and the leather parts of the boot like there is with the original Bean boots. I'll definitely find an excuse to wear these whenever possible this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by UNHalum from My new favorites Fit: Pay attention to the sizing guidelines and you'll be all set. I wear an 8.5 (sometimes EE) and I ordered the 8. With thick socks they fit great. These are not athletic shoes, they're boots so they fit like boots, and they are my new favorites. One note - I found that there was a slight break-in period for the leather and the insulation. Maybe a week before they really felt great. Stick with it and you'll be glad you did! Quality: Leather is off the charts. Flannel lining adds a nice touch. Insulation is ideal - not too much but enough to take the bite out. The insulation wraps around your entire foot but not the leather upper - and yes, it does wrap under the sole (not all boots do). I live in New England and I'm on ice for good portions of my weekends in the Fall/Winter. These boots were a great investment and keep my feet warm and dry. And they look amazing. You can really see and feel the quality that goes into making them. Overall: My last pair of Bean Boots were purchased when I was a freshman in college in New Hampshire. They lasted me 15 years and I wore them a lot (re-soled a couple of times). I have no doubt these will last the same if not longer. They are awesome.
