Rated 5 out of 5 by OnTheGoMommy2 from Waterproof and durable I have purchased these boots for my daughters multiple times over the years. We live in Northern Maine and spend a lot of time outside playing in the snow. Their feet stay warm and dry. Sometimes, in the Spring, their feet may get a little wet, but they come with an extra liner that is easy to swap out. I bought Bogs for my daughters one year and then I switched back to these again because they complained about their feet getting wet and cold with the Bogs. These boots are durable. I usually get 2 winters out of each pair before they are outgrown, and then they are still in good enough shape to be passed down. They are well worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by rcemre from Liners wore out far too quickly! The title pretty much sums it up! I wanted to love these boots, but my boys wore through through BOTH pairs of liners in just one season. Unfortunately, LLBean doesn't offer replacement liners for purchase anymore, either. So now we have two pairs of near perfect outers that are useless without the liners. I purchase LLBean with the expectation that we will be able to pass them down to the next child for at least another season--if I thought a boot was only going to last for a single winter I would purchase at a big box store. These boots unfortunately don't live up to the standard I usually expect from LLBean!

Rated 2 out of 5 by OutdoorEDV from wet feet These boots are not waterproof. My 5-year old son likes the feel of the boots and enjoys wearing them, but EVERY time he goes out in the snow, his feet get wet. I put his snow pant liner securely over the boot, so I know no snow is sneaking in from the top. We sent the first pair back because I thought they were defective, but the new pair leaks through, too. It's great that they come with 2 pair of removable liners, but I should not have to take them out EVERY night to dry them. Additionally, the back of one pair of liners wore through after only a couple of months. We have always relied on Bean for outdoor boots, but I am sad to say we would not order these again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sizinginfo from My son's choice every season! We've only ever used two brands of snow boots for our son, who is now 10. For the last 5 years, these boots are all he wants to wear. The quality is outstanding, the tread is unbeatable - and the extra set of liners is totally worth it! There has been times too much snow got inside his boots and he needed them for school the next day - we would switch out the liner. We also use our boot dryer and leave the liners in. The whole boot and liner are dry by the next morning. When my son outgrows them, we are able pass them on (which is great for a 10 year old boy to not destroy them!!) - and also both sets of liners. Great price for the quality!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Enormous from Kids size 5 = women's size 9.5 RIDICULOUS! These boots are enormous! I read reviews on this site prior to purchasing but my kids have been wearing the Northwoods boots for years. I just put my size 9.5 (women's) foot into a kids 5 and it fit. My daughter was wearing my son's size 13 from last year and I ordered the same size, new, and they're huge too. I'm very frustrated with LL Bean. It seems like the kids shoes are WAY wrong as though somehow adult shoes have been labeled as kids. I am now ordering my kids (size 13 and size 5) sizes 4 and 11. I hope these fit--it will be the third time I've paid for them and had to send them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Momma05478 from Excellent Boots! When you purchase from LL Bean, you are getting a great product anyways! These boots are awesome, I am a woman who wears a size 7, and purchased the kids size 6 and they fit great. I love that they have an extra liner, so when I do wear them forever, I will be able to switch them out to let them dry. We purchased these same boots for my 2 and 4 year old, and they fit great, they are warm, and they aren't bulky. They stay on your feet, unlike the Bogs where they fall off kids feet when you are walking up a hill (talk about cold feet and tears!). I am super impressed with these boots!

Rated 4 out of 5 by JennZ from Great, but replacement liners not available As is the case with most L.L. Bean products, these boots stand the test of time! I've been able to pass them down the line through my 5 kids over the years and while they still look practically new, they have been used to the point that three of our pairs are in need of replacement liners....but no luck! L.L. Bean doesn't have them available for purchase. I'm stuck now with three great pair of boots with loads of wear still left in them, but without a liner, they aren't warm enough to send my kids out in the snow with. Huge bummer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by maria1974 from Best Boots Ever! I bought my snow-love, cold-loving, mud-loving son these boots as well as a different pair of boots from a different store/company. The Bean boots are BY FAR the best boots he's ever had. They are tall enough to allow him to play in deep(ish) snow AND they are warm and comfy. It's important that the boots can (and do) stand up to the cold weather because we live in the Northeast (Ithaca, NY), and it snows a lot here. It can also get very cold and icy here, and these are truly awesome boots. My son is 9 years-old, and he is tough on his clothes/shoes. This was / is an excellent purchase.
