When our founder, Leon Leonwood Bean, developed this shirt more than 90 years ago, durability was the goal. Then as now, the 100% cotton shirt is brushed for exceptional softness and warmth. Best Go-To Shirt When Temps Are Low...
I don't remember when I first started wearing these shirts, but it was over 30 years ago when my mother was buying me clothes and LL Bean was one of her main places to shop for clothing. I wear these shirts almost exclusively during the 5 coldest months living in Wisconsin, as they are comfortable and fairly durable.

Horrible quality, thin material
Very thin, looked nothing like the pictures.
XL sizing felt more like XXL. Way too loose and arms are super baggy.
I don’t want to wash and shrink a shirt on purpose to have it fit.
Comparing this to my EddieB Chamois that is the same price and it’s so thin and not heavyweight like you would expect a chamois to be. I returned it immediately. Very disappointing.

Tall Size or lack thereof
L L Bean no longer manufactures size "Tall". I've just received 2 of these shirts from my wife, but just like their "Polo's" the "Tall" just doesn't exist. For reference, I am 6ft 2in and weight 200. I buy a large Tall elsewhere and they fit great. I bought Bean size Large Tall years ago, (still have some) and they fit great, but not anymore!

Warm and Attractive
I probably have around ten of these shirts with my latest two bought on sale now. I wear them over a Bean river driver shirt every day from fall to spring for a warm and snug feel. You can't find this quality material, tailoring and rich coloration anywhere else,especially for the price.
