Not the same as the photo at all
I love L.L. Bean, but I must be honest about this product. I got it for a Christmas gift. The hat almost looks black in person, not green at all. The wax coating is so thick that it comes off on your hands, and it makes the hat feel soaking wet. It was packed in a bag, so the wax had scrape marks and lines all throughout the hat. Some of the stitching was loose or hanging off. It looked like it had washed up on shore. L.L. Bean was great. They got me another hat, unfortunately, which looked the same as the first, and then they got me a refund. I just want to warn anyone thinking about getting this cap.

Green cap
I like it. Was a bit pricey, considering it’s just a ball cap. However seems well made with a great fit. Wore it in the rain and my noggen stayed dried. Great for anyone who likes the color green, a vintage look, enjoys comfort, and pay respect to the great state of Maine.

Great hat
I like it and it does seem water resistant. I wore it in the rain, and it didn't soak through. The secondary text is a little hard to read, but the embroidery is well done overall.
