Rated 3 out of 5 by from Read the measurements! It’s small. No quibbles with the construction quality or appearance. But—if you have plans for holding odd-sized pieces of wood like I did, it’s going to be too small. I was envisioning a 16-18” diameter, not the 12” diameter, which is small for the plans I have. That oversight is100% on me. LL Bean puts the specs right where you can find them in the listing. I do love the idea of a bigger version that has something to help it stay round when not filled as year-round hearth decoration. The romance of LL Bean accessories around my hearth hasn’t dimmed after 40 years, so I’m going to work with this piece until something closer to my vision comes to market. For the bazillion odd-sized pieces that come from cutting and splitting your own wood, I think I will be going instead with a modestly-sized 16” diameter washtub—and may spray-paint it to an appropriate rustic color in sage, rusty-brown or dark yellow.
