Very light weight, soft and comfortable. The cargo/front pockets w/buttons could be 1”-2" deeper for my diabetes monitor. I'm very short waisted so I turned the waistband over to the inside. Turning it outside would give a rough seam surface. I shortened the legs above that. The 'Adjustable hem' is a fabric loop at the bottom with no locking mechanism.

Very Good, Needs Better Pockets
This is my first review for a L.L.Bean product, even though I’ve been purchasing from them for over a decade. I noticed other reviews mentioning the same critique about these pants. Firstly, I think these are great pants for hiking, taking walks, and other outdoor activities. I like that the length is 29 inches for the petite sizing, which seems perfect for my height. The fit is also perfect for me. My one important criticism is the pockets. All the pockets are much too shallow. We women also need pockets deep enough for a phone and other items, other than keys. If we are going for walks, short hikes, walking the dog, fishing, or going to the park in warm weather, most of us are not taking a purse or wearing a coat, and we need to put our phones and other items somewhere to have them on us. I know your men’s clothing has adequately sized pockets, and it feels like a double standard when it comes to us. Please don’t think women want tiny little pockets that won’t hold a phone or hardly anything else. I won’t buy these pants again until the pockets are changed.
