This exclusive flannel shirt is woven just for us by true artisans in Portugal. These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn't automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the "touch test." Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.

Just had to have this one.
I got the reddish one. It isn’t your traditional boring same red plaid. It more red/orange. And with some dark green. It is lovely and cozy like all LL Bean flannels.

Scotch Plaid Flannel
These shirts are absolutely lovely in every way EXCEPT that they pill up on the very first wash and dry !! This is such a disappointment because they fit well and are sturdy and soft. The pilling takes away from the nice everyday look and immediately turns them into yard work shirts. PLEASE LL Bean correct this problem. For the price tag of $59 I expect a shirt that can hold up to gentle wash and dry for a few years before pilling. I won't buy more until this is resolved.

Red-orange, not red
“Red” is actually “rusty red-orange”. I expected “red”. But I wont send it back, because it is a good fit, warm, and a good color for fall.

Versatile Fall/Winter flannel shirt
I really like the red plaid flannel shirt! It’s cheerful, comfortable, and warm. I’m 5’4”, 118 lbs: ordered size Medium petite. It fits well, a bit on the short side. With the regular medium, sleeves are always too long, but fine with petite. I hope it washes well; usually flannel wrinkles and I like to avoid ironing.
