Great true upland vest for grouse and woodcock
I love this vest. I have the immediate predecessor and hunt with it about 40 days a year in some of the most rugged covers - hawthorns, raspberries, slash, fir thickets, alder swamps, you name it. I've had it for about 10 years and it has held up well, but it is about time for some repair or replacement. I hunt almost exclusively for wild birds in Northern New England. No, it is not ideal for pheasants, but New England has no wild pheasants. I like that it is smaller, but I agree with others game pouch could be slightly enlarged and that the outside back pocket could be expanded. I think about 20 to 25% more volume is all that would be desirable for wild birds in New England, but it is rare that you have more than the need for a pair of grouse and a pair of woodcock before returning to your vehicle. I agree the side zippers could use a snap at the top to address concerns raised by others. The Technical Upland Vest Pack addresses the concerns of those who want to hunt pheasants, but it often looks ridiculous on shorter, smaller people because it hangs down and billows out. If I needed it for a limit of pheasant between trips to the truck, then maybe. For me, however, even at 6' and 190lbs, the Technical Upland Vest is way too big. I also think the Pa'tridge vest is more attractive.

Great vest
Great vest. Runs on the large side. I wear an xl t shirt but the medium large was more than big enough. Zippers are also not a big deal like most people say.

Almost great
Got this vest and have been using it this season, comfortable to wear and the M/L fits me perfect. However, the buttons on the back come undone easily causing the zippers to not stay in place. Simple fix with some safety pins, but an annoying defect none the less.

Great modern vest with vintage appeal
I really like this vest for hunting and I also use it for sporting clays. The only thing I would change is to also have the shell pocket flaps have Velcro to hold closed. Now it is only a button flap which I don’t do so I have to be mindful when I bend over not to dump my shells.

Least favorite vest I own.
I have used this vest for several years now, and while I like the basic design and style that is where the good things I have to say about it end. It is way over sized. M/L is actually L/XL. If you are an average build person you have to cinch the straps down as tight as they'll go, and it will still be loose. The water bottle pouches are tiny and will only accommodate narrow diameter bottles. This really sucks as this vest gets used when it's warm outside and the dogs drink as much as I'll give them. The game pouch is almost inaccessible with the vest on, and if you can contort your arm to reach it, the zippers slide down. The game pouch is also very small. It will hold a limit of ruffs, but if you manage to limit on blue grouse or pheasants, you'll be carrying a few in your hand.
