Too floppy
I wanted to like this, but it is just not practical. My 16" inch laptop just makes it into the sleeve. However, it is a struggle because the bag does not stand up. It is floppy and I have to lay it down and use 2 hands to slide the laptop in. While i'm doing this , the other items in the bag slide all over the place. I Do appreciate the dual handles, so I can just grab the small ones if I do not want to carry it over my shoulder. This helps keep it from dragging along the ground when i'm carrying it by hand. I appreciate the water bottle sleeve on the interior. If this bag had some structure to it where it could stand up on its own with a wide mouth opening and larger laptop sleeve , the product would be much better. I will be looking for a replacement.

Room For Improvement
I received this tote bag as a gift earlier this year. As an everyday carry it holds up pretty well. The small “L.L. Bean” letters have already peeled off and are gone, but that doesn’t affect the functionality. I like the dual handles that allow the bag to be carried over the shoulder, even when bundled up for winter.
Sone items I’ve learned to look for in a to+from work bag that this tote doesn’t have include a keychain leash/attachment, pen slots, more internal pockets, and a smaller padded laptop area. My work laptop is pretty small at 13” and I still need to put it inside a separate padded case before putting it into this tote, otherwise it jostles around too much. The padded laptop slot leaves a bit to be desired; I don’t feel safe sliding my empire issued laptop in here as-is. I also find I prefer an exterior bottle holder and something more durable and water resistant along the bottom, since I’m often on site for work. I would buy this again.
