Love the wool fabric and fit!
I bought this for an upcoming trip to Iceland. I love well-made wool clothing. I’m excited for this piece!
For reference, I’m 5’8”, 170lb and a 38C. The overall fit is between the oversized boxy style and an athletic, fitted style. The pullover hits me mid hip, covers most of my bottom, and does not cling to my legs/thighs—it slightly flares out. The arms have great space and weren’t tight on my biceps. I feel like there’s plenty of space for a base layer. I have long arms and the sleeves fit well at my wrists. I like how this fits. I ordered a L and XL and will be keeping the L.
The wool blend is soft to the touch inside and out. The exterior is a bouclé fabric with loops on the exterior. It’s beautiful in the balsam green color. As soon as it arrived, I tried it on over my t-shirt. I had no issues with it being irritating or scratchy from the wool. I own many wool pieces from various companies and L.L.Bean doesn’t disappoint with this blend. If I have any concern, it’s that it could develop a pull while hiking, but we’ll see what happens. The trim looks like leather, but is fabric and the contrast makes it look more finished and refined. I have no doubt this would look great for a casual dinner out.
The pockets are well placed and deep. My iPhone 16 fit easily with room to spare. Just to be clear, there are 2 pockets and not a kangaroo pouch. The pockets are tacked well to the interior meaning that when you put your keys and phone in the pockets it doesn’t look sloppy and unsupported.
I’m really excited for this piece and how it performs in Iceland.
